Re: Product Safety Recall #06013/04-05 Xlr

800's have light problems because of BAD DESIGN. The lights are turned on prior to the engine fulling running and for some reason the AMP draw it TOO great and that causes decreased life in the bulbs. I know people who have turned off DRL on their trucks and it has solved the problem (as the lights only come on early at night). If you install an HID kit in one of these trucks the problem grows exponentially.

The only way to solve it is to do something about the amp draw.

The G6 had a similar recall because the page in the owners manual that tells you how to use a child seat wasnt clear enough.

I don't own a vehicle that expensive, but I doubt that so long as the XLR has held up otherwise. After all, rappers were bragging about driving Benzes and Jaguars even when their quality control appeared nonexistant in the 90s...

Yep. I got called back time and again by my dealership because they needed to verify that I'd received the sticker. Being military with my vehicles registered in my home state (have to use my parents' address), everything gets mailed there, then they forward it to me. So it took a few months before I received the updated label.

Drove the dealership I bought the car from nuts though.

Re: Product Safety Recall #06013/04-05 Xlr

I nearly ran into a woman the other day because of her broken left side light assembly. I was waiting at a stop sign across a street. She was coming down that street from my right (2 way stop, so she could continue straight). I watched her pass by as if she were going straight and quickly turned to check to make sure nobody else was coming from another direction, then began moving. But she DIDN'T keep going- she was turning toward ME, and braking hard to slow down. So she was right in front of me as I started to move. I wasn't moving quickly yet and was easily able to stop. But if I had been a bit quicker to take off, the lack of a simple signal would've caused an accident.

So I definitely agree that this is no small thing for a recall. Obviously I also agree that people that don't use their signals should be taken out and shot, saving the rest of us from one extra hazard. I mean how hard is it to flip the little lever beside the steering wheel? If your hands are too full or you're too preoccupied with something else you probably should be parked somewhere anyway.
