Update: "A Toyota spokesman said the recall would also cover about 400,000 units overseas."
Source: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,197458,00.html Sounds like many are not for the American market. Could that mean these are Japanese produced? I thought they built perfect vehicles in their factories at home. Sounds like a small problem.... who needs to steer a car anyway? ![]() Full Article: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/13046349/ vroten Quote:

Re: Toyota recalls more than 565,000 cars
It does affect the Corolla and Prius, which are obviously sold in the US and are volume sellers. It's interesting - the perception of Toyota in the marketplace is not that they use subpar parts, but clearly that is the situation here.
I don't think it has to do with where the cars are produced, but with the design of the parts, or perhaps the choice of material for them. |

Re: Toyota recalls more than 565,000 cars
Sheesh,....another Toyota recall,....who would have thought that the perfect company would have flaws. And its not little stupid stuff like small electronic stuff, its transmissions and steering shafts. Stuff that directly effects the operation of the car.

Must be "teething" issues.. You know, like on the Avalon.
4th year teething issues in some cases.

Looks like only the PRIUS recall might effect US customers. Those Corollas are not US versions and only sold in Japan and a few other South and Southeast Asian countries.

RE: CALLing out Toyota recalls-
If I RECALL, we agreed not to celebrate Toyota RECALLs anymore. It's not like they'RE CALLecting RECALLS to hang on the mantle. They have problems too. Thankfully, these problems don't lead to seveRE CALLisions. Lets all stop picking on poor Toyota. Let's have a fREE, CALLective sigh of relief that more vehicles weren't involved.
