Most recalled 2007 vehicles: New Beetle and Sequoia

Most Recalled 2007 Vehicles

Quote:
A new report revealed 2007's top 14 most recalled vehicles. The findings exclude the 3.6 million cars recalled by Ford this year as none were 2007's.

According to BusinessWeek, 4 of the top 5 recalled cars were imports, the lone domestic being the Jeep Liberty. GM and Ford did well, both having a very low volume of vehicles recalled. Chrysler didn't perform as well as the other domestics, scoring 3 significant recalls. Full results to follow.

1. Volkswagen New Beetle: 1,002,000
2. Toyota Sequoia: 533,124
3. Jeep Liberty: 149,605
4. Nissan Altima: 140,582
5. Hyundai Tucson: 128,300
6. Dodge Nitro, Jeep Wrangler: 80,894
7. Suzuki Forenza, Reno: 75,697
8. Volkswagen Passat, Passat Wagon: 58,800
9. Chrysler Sebring, 300, Dodge Caliber, Magnum, Charger, Nitro, Jeep Compass, Liberty, Commander, Grand Cherokee, Wrangler: 50,665
10. Infiniti G35 Coupe: 23,934
NO GM VEHICLES IN THE TOP 10!

1 Toyota and 2 Nissans in the top ten, that can't be true!

Wow, what killed the Bettle?
And the Sequoia has been a heap for a while.

Holy cow, that is a lot of Beetles!

Isn't the Sequoia being redesigned soon? Just curious...

Well surely the 1,002,000 Beetles and 533,124 Sequoias weren't all 2007 models either?

Perhaps they were global numbers?

Not that I am trying to defend Ford.

I'm not sure where these numbers are coming from? Sequoia is America only.

The 3.5 million recalled Ford vehicles are more than all the other cars in the list combined.

Re: Most recalled 2007 vehicles: New Beetle and Sequoia

Wow! What happened to the G35 Coupe?

As to the number of New Beetles and Sequoias, the list includes vehicles that involve 2007 models as well as other years, but the 2007 model must be involved to make the list. None of the recalled Ford vehicles were 2007 models, but some of the New Beetles were.

Why do they list 11 cars as #9? Did each of those cars have that amount or is that to total for all 11?

They probably all share whatever component the recall was based on.

Can that be? I'm not seeing any GM car on the list. That can't be right!
