These recalls are NOT a bad thing... They are a GOOD thing... I wish GM did MORE. They should begin voluntary "no cost" recalls of all 10 year or newer cars that left the factory with known problems... Take my 2002 STS... there are GM known problems for: Truck leaks, bad Cats, crank sensors, Stereo issues with the Serial 2 Bus, Intermediate shaft, AIR pump, Tire balancing, FUBARed BCM and control arms... On my car guess how many of those issues I experienced? Yup ALL of them... Half under warranty, half I fixed myself... Do i think my car is reliable? Not too bad... Imaging my opinion of GM reliability if GM had called the car in and fixed all of the above in one go... BEFORE they failed or caused issues.

NHTSA Finds No Merit In Reports Of Unintended Acceleration In Toyota Tacoma Pickups By: Mike Levine Posted: 09-03-08 15:14 PT © 2008 PickupTrucks.com Page: [1] The Detroit Free Press is reporting that the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration has closed the books on its investigation into reports of unintended acceleration in 2005-08 Toyota Tacoma pickups. The federal agency says it couldn't find signs of a defect in the mid-size pickup. NHTSA released a statement about its Tacoma investigation, saying, "For those vehicles where the throttle control system did not perform as the owner believes it should have, the information suggesting a possible defect related to motor vehicle safety is quite limited. Additional investigation is unlikely to result in a finding that a defect related to motor vehicle safety exists." The Tacoma uses a drive-by-wire throttle system that replaces a physical connection between the accelerator and throttle with an electronic connection. Toyota says its system was designed to report an error if the accelerator pedal and throttle are mismatched. No error codes have been found in Tacomas where the issue has been reported. |

Re: GM recalling 944,000 vehicles
Let's keep to the issue at hand and how it pertains to the vehicles itself, rather than debate about it....that is NOT the function of the Recall section of GMI...
Thanks.. RE: Basic rules for the RECALL Forum:

Re: GM recalling 944,000 vehicles
I checked about recalls before I bought my 08 Outlook, none posted. Just 2 days before I was going to pick mine up i heard on the radion the tailend of a washer fluid recall, sure enough I checked the internet and there it was. It seems to be just an inline fuse added. Simple enough, just hope it gets done before winter.
