Re: Another Tundra Recall...

Funny thing is that these Toyota owners don't seem that upset. From the tundrasolutions.com forum, in a thread about this specific recall, member 'metrictundra' proclaims:
Quote:
As a first Toyota truck owner I am glad that they even address small issues. It just shows me more and more why I like Toyota products.
So, how does a domestic manufacturer like GM even reach somebody like this? These people represent the 'lost generation' of buyers that wouldn't even consider a domestic product, regardless of quality, price, etc.

Re: Another Tundra Recall...

Sounds like Toyota's 'Moving Forward' campaign has finally stalled.

But really, what problems has the Tundra not have. I mean I alone am surprised the Tundra has not fallen apart driving down the road due to loosely bolted and welded together parts.

Well, the Tundra has one atleast one award this year, most recalled vehicle.

Re: Another Tundra Recall...

...with all these recalls and how much fuel it consumes, I'm left wondering... why is it outselling the Nissan Titan? I am a fan of the big 3's trucks, but I think at least the Titan has proven itself to be a much better truck than what the Tundra is turning out to be...

Thats easy its marketing I've never seen a commercial or ad for the Titan but have seen some many of those stupid Tundra commercials I have to change the channel everytime one comes on.

Re: Another Tundra Recall...

Well they're not official recalls, but with the camshafts tearing engines to bits and the 6-speed transmissions having other problems, and the tailgates having the welds split when anything of considerable weight is placed on them... and Consumer Reports having to reconsider the way they rate ALL Toyotas based on the Tundra's reliability (or lack thereof), it isn't just this tiny little deal that makes me say that, it's merely the icing on the cake.

It Outsells the Titan because it is a Toyota.

OK, these almost had me spitting soda too!

I find it funny that GM prefers to not mention supplier problems when putting out recall information and just deal with the actual issue. I don't think customers will care if it's a supplier issue or not, they would want to get it taken care of.
