Because you said you chose a used Silverado over a new F-150. I guess that a brand new Silverado was so bad that you didn't even include it in your choices OR you were just bashing the Ford F-150. Which is fine because the Ford F-150 is so great that is bashing everything else in its market.

Thanks Sobe. However, I do want to be clear: as much as I like Fords, I'd still pick an Impala over a Five Hundred, a Tahoe over an Explorer, an Equinox over an Escape, a Corvette over a GT, a Yukon over an Expedition, a G6 over a Fusion (well, maybe that's a tie), a Lucerne over a Montego, and any Cadillac over any Lincoln or Jaguar. I have three car leases that expire in two years (including this new acquisition), so at that time, we'll also be able to talk about Camaros vs. Mustangs and Silverados vs. F150's.

Anyway, GM still reigns supreme, but Fords are pretty cool. Given the dire straits of the domestics, we should all probably think of ourselves on the same team trying to best the imports rather than bashing other domestics.

Now, how about round of Kum-By-Ya?

Well Cool, no one was expecting your rehab to take place overnight. You know how it is one step at the time. This was a very important step, there will be others. Just be patient.

Pictures?

Re: Turncoat II: The Blue Oval Betrayal?

coolcaddy - While I drive an Envoy, I have driven a new F150 and it was extremely impressive. Congratulations on a great choice. They're a nice truck and I'm sure you will enjoy it. Competition is great - it only serves to make better product for consumers. Enjoy your new ride.

Well, those are all rational choices. I admit a black Impala SS is pretty nice, sure wish Ford offered that V8 in the Five Hundred. I'd take a Tahoe over the new Expedition, though I'd take an Explorer over a Trailblazer or Envoy. The Lucerne is nicer than the Montego, but then I think the Montego is more on par (and superior to the Lacrosse). Fusion over the G6 in my book, and yeah though I hate to admit it, Lincoln is behinf Cadillac in almost every way (though the 06 Navigator still has a nicer interior than the GMT900 Escalade).

Ide rather have a Ford GT over a Vette. And a 2007 Expy over a GMT900 Tahoe.

If you would actually read my post, I said "Why buy a new ANYTHING" the used Chevy was a better deal than ANY new truck. I tell you, you Ford guys crack me up. EVERYTHING has to be explained to you like children.

Get a life. Go preach your pro Ford stuff to someone else. I worked for Ford for 8 years. I earned the right to bash them if I choose. But, I bash them because they 1) deserve it 2) to make people like you mad about it.

As far as the F-150 being "so great" I'd take a Silverado and an equally equiped F-150 hook them up bumper to bumper, and lets see who breaks first. I hope you like crow. 'cause you'll be eating alot of it.

I guess I don't see the point in this thread. You bought a Ford. OK?

Re: Turncoat II: The Blue Oval Betrayal?

the salesman came back with a monthly payment on a beautiful new F150 that was too good to be true, and on a short 2-year lease to boot. I didn't want to commit and I wasn't sure how it would fit in my garage, so he offered to let me take it home (similar to GM's 24-Hour Test Drive program).

That is the standard "puppy dog close", taking it home to "see how it fits in your garage".

Money down, i.e. Cool's trades, help the payments on 2 years leases more than on 3 or 4 year leases.

Say $8000 down on 24 payments ='s $333/month
and $8000 down on 36 payments ='s $222/month
