Re: Saturn: Almost FIXED... Next?

I agree. I personally think every Pontiac needs to be RWD and every Buick should offer AWD to help separate themselves from the rest of GM's brands.

The whole point of Saturn was to get people to buy an American car who otherwise wouldn't have done so. Selling it in existing GM dealers wouldn't have gotten people in who didn't want American cars, and then Saturn wouldn't have the reputation for great dealer service. Saturn was considered a subsidary, not a division, of GM, but they were still GM all the way. The whole idea of Saturn started from the minds of GM's higher level execs.
I do not know how new you are,so let me do this. Saturn was put into place to employ people in States that were in need of employment. This was to be another car company without union representation, this was a deal between the UAW and GM to employee the pick of the crop from other plants of GM that were reliable workers to head up the new plant. This new company would have its own dealerships as it was not under the GM flag. The thing to remember here is the no hagling prices (GM employee prices) would be for all. The Saturn VUE that have the Honda power trains are sold in Canada too, this was part of the deal with Honda.Honda uses ON star as part of the agreement,Saturn is a car company ,as GM is a car company but now the structure of GM has changed to North America Organization, it now includes Saturn. This might help you too ,it was GM10 ,CPC BOP this did not include Saturn ,but it is included now. (hope this clears up your misunderstanding)

Re: Saturn: Almost FIXED... Next?

Here is how you fix things
Buick:
Revive the Buick Regal GNX (Something with a V6 and a T/C option please).
Lucern very well done large 4-door sedan
Lacrosse very well done mid sized 4-door sedan
I want a 2-Door sedan that has a speed option see GNX comment
no comment on their SUVs
Revive the Buick Skylark or a Lacrosse with a big engine works I guess. but the skylark sounds cooler and could be a faster looking car than the Lacrosse.
Don't bother with any 4 cylinder cars or anything really small and sporty and keep all the cars near luxury, no short cuts but nothing too amazingly fancy.
Pontiac:
Grand Prix powerful V6 T/C
G6 none T/C version of the Grand Prix
GTO very well done I think
Firbird bring it back please give it the 5.3L
Solstice give it the T/C 2.0L
no SUVs no Trucks just cars. Just speed please.

Oh and old people have more money to burn.
Problem is, they then drive like that too.

Re: Saturn: Almost FIXED... Next?

Saturn as the next Pontiac? They have a good start by using Opel as their springboard.
