BTW- If we replace our PT Cruiser, it will be with a CTS! We love all Cadillacs!

Re: Rallying to GM's Side in Dark Times: What can we do?

I am a lifelong GM owner from Chevys to Cadillacs and in between. I think alot of the problem starts at the dealerships and the sales people being totally unenthusiastic about their product and having limited knowledge about the product. Ask them at a Chevy dealer about specifics of a motor in a particular car your looking at (HP and Torque) and they have no clue.
I can remember i was looking at an Avalanche and the one without the cladding was coming out shortly. I asked the salesman when it would arrive at the dealer and he didnt even know they were building one without the cladding on the bottom. Being a GM person I felt disgusted .
I will always support GM 100%. Maybe some kind of GM satisfication decal
on the vehicles letting people know you are satisfied with your vehicles.
And get the Camaro out soon........like yesterday.........Also more education for the salespeople.

I own:

88 Monte Carlo SS
01 Monte Carlo SS
92 Camaro Z28
03 Trailblazer

Re: Rallying to GM's Side in Dark Times: What can we do?

I wouldn't post G6's rear end under GM's best efforts...

I don't like modding cars - for me, they are a complete work of art, if the automaker can't make even the base versions appealing, it's their fault. But I agree that nothing helps more than having your vehicles clean and in good condition.

All in all, I don't think that you should go enthisiastic about GM beyond reason. It's only because GM thought there are enough people who would buy GM no matter what that GM came up with so many sub-par offerings. I believe all GM American fans should petition GM to replace the G6 and Malibu with something serious so that they could convince everybody around to buy one.

Re: Rallying to GM's Side in Dark Times: What can we do?

I did my best when my brother wanted a new car to convince him to go GM. I recommended the G6 sedan, Cobalt sedan and Malibu sedan.

He ended up buying a Civic anyway. (A 2005 model, not the '06) FYI, he owned a '98 Cavalier before that--have you figured out why he bought a Honda yet?

My other brother and his wife have owned 4 GM cars between them. They bought a Civic in '04, and are now looking to replace their '98 Blazer with a Mazda6. They've owned a Beretta, the Blazer, a Cavalier and a Sunfire. Again--are you still wondering why they're going import?

that sucks, have them TEST DRIVE AND CROSS SHOP ALL MODELS. Those vehicles were no where near as good as the balt,g6,and malibu. They would be thoroughly impressed w/ them 2day!

Re: Rallying to GM's Side in Dark Times: What can we do?

Well, buying a new model-year GM car is the number 1 thing to do. I did that.

I also convinced someone to buy an HHR, and now they're a virtual walking advertisement for it...always talking about it to other people.

I find it interesting that the Pontiac G6 has been out since CY2004, and people STILL have no clue to what it is. NONE. I've had people riding in my car and get out and say, "Did this just come out?" or "What's a G6?"

The most impressive thing for people so far has been the panoramic sunroof and the Onstar with voice-dialing. Had I not gotten those two features, it would have been another Blah car that passengers wouldn't even think twice about.

Very exciting, vanshmack! You seemed to have made a great choice from the specific models available, too; it's a looker. Prove positive the GMT-900's are GM work done well.

I would add to this list. If we can't buy a new car then we can at least buy a T-shirt or sweat shirt or Jacket with out favorite GM division on it. All of the GM sites have great stuff to wear or display. Its like free advertising for GM . I'm already doing this. I hope to be able to buy that new car before too long also.

This girl used to walk around my high school with a t-shirt with the GEO logo in big letters across her chest.

Re: Rallying to GM's Side in Dark Times: What can we do?

I do my part. I buy a new GM car or truck every year and have never gone more than a few years without buying a new GM.

Since I have left college I have bought the following:

1988 Chevy Cavalier Z-24
1992 Chevy Cavalier RS
1994 Chevy Cavalier Base
1998 Chevy Metro
1999 Chevy Tracker
2001 Chevy Tahoe
2002 Saturn SL
2003 Pontiac Montana
2004 Saturn Ion Red Line
2004 Pontiac Aztek
2005 Chevy Suburban

Proud owner of a 2005 Chevy Suburban and a not so proud owner of a 2004 Pontiac Aztek (wifes former car, so to be traded for a Saab 9-3 or Pontiac G6 Coupe)

Selling GM cars over competition is easy! Just ask........ can your Maxima, Accord, or Camry do this???? http://videos.streetfire.net/Player....0-2354ABC81DD2

Thanks to Paul over at LS4WBODY for the video clip.

Nice! Another W-Body fan here... my '02 GTP is soon to be cammed and intercooled

My workspace is decorated with C5R/C6R pics plus the #3 and #8 cars and a nice rendering of the Camaro concept... people always stop to look at them. And my GTP is the blackest, shiniest car in the parking lot... everyday! I think it's starting to work because yesterday, instead of more new Civics and Acuras, I saw 3 new G6's, 2 of them were black and nicely washed, polished rims... I almost cried. lol

Re: Rallying to GM's Side in Dark Times: What can we do?

I'm doing my part. Just leased a 2006 Impala SS this is the best car I ever owned. Two thumps up! What next? I am going to buy or lease with in the next 10 months one of the following: a Trailblazer SS, Silverado with Max pkg., or if they put a V-8 in an H3, an H3. I am also thinking of buying GM stock. I have never owned anything but GM and never will!!!

My current and previous vehicles:
2006 Impala SS
2003 Blazer ZR2 (5spd)
2003 Grand AM GT SC/T
2001 Alero GLS
2000 Blazer ZR2 (auto)
1998 Malibu LS
1998 S10 PU
1996 Grand AM GT
1996 Regal GS
1994 Jimmy S-15 H.O.4.3 192,000 miles no problems and would roast the tires.
1993 Grand Am
1991 Beretta GTZ
