How many young guys want a Chevy? It's not a status symbol unless you are a redneck....BTW, real rednecks drive a truck.......most successful young boys and girls want a BMW or a Lexus, or an Infiniti to impress their a**ho*e friends.
Folks that have Camaro or Corvette money are baby boomers.........and they want something that is a performer and has a bit of comfort. They don't want to live their second childhood in a torcher chamber!
As for being a troll, well................if some of the GM folks had listened to trolls........they wouldn't have gone bankrupt. Most of the anti-trolls on this site.........are into rear wheel drive and cars they can't afford........a la CTS, SS2 Camaro, and a loaded LaCross.
Drive what you can afford...........GM's mission is to make a good car that people can afford!
You are complaining about the Camaro being overpriced? Have you gotten out of your nursing home to look at the competition? You can also get one for 23k which is a steal for 300+ Hp. I am younger and I want Chevrolet's and many other people my age do too.

There are cars that GM makes to complain about but you choose some of the best! Go away troll!

Re: New GM 100 Days: Time Line

In the process losing many people who had long been GM loyalist among domestic only buyers. My family used to be split between GM and Ford. MAny will never return to the GM brand because of Pontiac

I know it seems so insignificant... But its true. because GM and Chrysler dropped the ball the Americans once again lose market share to the Japapnese and the rest of the world.

lol. Apparently there are over 20000 baby boomers who are single, still live with their mum and dad, enjoying their insurance premium being higher than their repayments all whilst sitting in their HUMVEE originated seats.

Well sorted argument. Clearly you are thinking this through.

Gee...I'm 28, married, have a family, and can afford every car on that list. I also happen to be able to spell "LaCrosse" correctly, know that it is a "2SS" package on the Camaro, and understand that RWD has a place as does FWD.

Maybe you should quit generalizing about the people on the board and start making points that make sense.

1. RWD vs FWD - there are advantages to each, and neither is perfect. Both have a place in the lineup, but there are extremists either way who refuse to acknowledge that. For performance vehicles, 80+ years of trial and error has successfully proven that RWD or RWD-biased AWD is the way to go.
2. I'm young, successful, married, have a family, and would love to own a Camaro SS with the 2SS and RS packages. My wife and I are waiting to order until we see the convertible to decide which we want.
3. The seats in the Camaro are definitely more supportive with bigger side and hip bolsters than the seats in a HUMMER. I haven't ridden in the HMMWV (HUMVEE) as it is a military only vehicle, but I'm assuming it doesn't have highly bolstered sport seats. If it does, then way to go US Army.
4. I have plenty of friends who drive BMWs, Audis, Lexus, and Infiniti and aren't a**holes. Quit stereotyping people based on what brand of car they drive. Different strokes for different folks.
5. Much of the "bloat" in today's cars is due to the wonderful folks at the IIHS and NHTSA who decided that surviving a crash was a little more important than fuel economy. Don't believe me? Google "1959 Chevy Bel Air vs 2009 Chevy Malibu" and "crash test". The extra weight and "bloat" is the high-strength structural steel, dual front and side-curtain airbags, reinforced doors for side impact protection, roof reinforcements, upgraded suspension so that you aren't driving a barge, and larger wheels and tires for better grip and stability.

Quite honestly, GM has a long way to go before they are a successful company again. The vehicles they are bringing out now are competitive, which is a change from the last 30 years. GM needs to continue to improve to truly become world-class again, but denying how far they've come and how good the current offerings are vs the competition is just as ignorant as the trolls who scream at the top of their lungs that GM is perfect and can do no wrong.
