Re: July's Concept Of the Month: Buick Centieme

I would agree that the Enclave is alot nicer... Enclave is one sexy Buick even if it is a crossover

Re: July's Concept Of the Month: Buick Centieme

The only aspect of the design I do not like is the C pillar. To me it doesn't make sense that it would be body color because it is completely surrounded by the chrome window moulding. I think that it should be black like the B pillar. This would also have the effect of visually lowering the roofline and having it look a little longer. This applies to both the concept and the production model.

Buick has done an amazing job. I remember looking at the Centieme and thinking how great it looks. However, it clearly had some 'concept' aspects to the style that would not have translated as well to a production car. The Enclave is a just about perfect execution to bring that concept to production reality!

They should make a hotrod version of the Enclave with the same powertrain as the concept, it had 300hp right? They can get this now without the need of force induction, and 300hp nowadays isn't anything special. They should put a turbo and give it 400hp.
It seems that a better way to achieve more power and accomplish better fuel economy would be to offer the 3.6 DI as an option. I would think that we could expect at least a 2 mpg and 25 hp boost from DI, and I would guess that the DI option would cost about $1000. That would be a popular option, I would think.

Is a turbo really a good option on a vehicle this size, anyway? This is not a sports car, so I don't really think that reving this baby against the limiter is what most Enclave buyers are looking for. I think a nice v-8 would be a better option for power. Is the new HF V8 due out soon?
