Re: GMI Public Service Announcement: Pre-Production Cars

Yeah thank you for the announcement Al Hopefully this will make things clear for people once and for all because some of the comments about how ugly the headlights look were starting to get annoying Personally I think the Tacked on Units Look good on this car but I can't wait to see a test car with production spec headlights

Re: GMI Public Service Announcement: Pre-Production Cars

I knew right from the start those couldn't be the production headlights. I do however think the tail lights are pretty much right. That black car sure did look sharp though, I hope the shaping of the body panels stay the same, the body looks great! about 95% true to the concept...perfect! But I do think that the grille shown in this preproduction car may make it to production...look...it kinda looks like the '69 grille. Which looks fine to me.

I don't want to hear any more whining,...this will be the best styled Camaro in a long time...

I hear ya. What's so silly is that they aren't proportional to the size of the vehicle. Micro-b*lls. It's more of an embarassing situation than anything else. I saw a few cars in a parking lot that had them painted flourescent pink and green. Someone had fun!

I wonder if the camo can be a color choice when ordering a car? Ha, Ha.

Pre-production Cars

Before any car manufacturer sells a new car, it must put it through multiple tests in hundreds of conditions, some conditions that the car will never see. Sometimes when car makers put these preproduction cars on the road, they might not have ALL the parts that the car will have when production time comes. Some of these parts are wheels, interior pieces, and even exterior lighting. What some companies will do for testing, is substitute some parts for stuff they will have in the parts bin or random parts from a local auto parts store. Recently there has been attention drawn toward the Camaro preproduction cars that have been driving around the world for testing, namely the headlights.

These headlights are NOT, repeat NOT production. They are not going to be, look similar to, or even be close to production. The headlights are there just to literally shine light on the road so that the car can be street legal. The Department of Transportation says that all road going cars must have running headlights, both high and low beam. So before another person jumps the gun about another preproduction car having some sort of odd or poor fitting parts, remember that these are PRE aka before production cars, and will be fixed before they are sold to the public.

Thank you for your time

Big Al, could you just go ahead and post this at Camaro5? I think it needs to be a sticky there more than here.

Re: GMI Public Service Announcement: Pre-Production Cars

Speaking of pre-production cars, a certain unnamed other site is showing more Camaro shots. UPCLOSE interior shots witout camo!!! And people on there are already complaining about the materials, design, etc. It is obvious it is pre-production model and GM has made sure they are not showing the final product which is still a year away...

Hopefully GMInsideNews will have the KGP Photography photos up soon.

P.S. Just to note, the new shots show a Camaro with the back end covered up. Remember the black Camaro that we saw in the parking lot with the back end uncovered? $50 says that is not the final iteration.

It's easier to just provide links.

Can't, out of professional courtesy to GMI. But I am sure a few of you can guess which site I am talking about. And because it is KGP, it is bought and paid for.

Not that other GM site? Or is it the other other GM site?
