Re: GMI Concept of the Month: Holden Torana TT36
This would kick Camrys ugly butt.
But we have heard time and time again about the costs of building bigger cars means bigger profits. (and Im sure there are people in Holden, who remember the thought process behind the original "small" Commodore - and the mistake it turned out to be) I would be lining up now if I knew this was coming, but why launch Epica if this had any chance of coming. Viva/Astra, Epica/Torana all these cars have to have spare parts support (for memory in OZ its legislated at ten years) and that would be very expensive. Why launch Torana as a high end Aurion/Camry competitor and get little to no volume out of it like the last Vectra with its tend grand price rise. I was hoping Epica kept getting delayed because Holden had a HUGE surprise up its sleave but that was just wishful thinking like the idea that the VZ cars are making way for Torana. I hope Im wrong. ![]() |

Get rid of the Milan, Montego, Mountaineer, and Fusion headlights, and I'll be happy.

If Holden, etc pick these up as replacements for the Isuzu D-Max (Holden Rodeo), then the GM-Thai plant will need something to build. The plant is in a good central location to export 'Alpha' around the world and has a proven record of quality assembly. |

Re: GMI Concept of the Month: Holden Torana TT36
Beautiful sport sedan styling. Hatchback versatility. Why doesn't GM (Holden or Chevy/Pontiac/Saturn) build this for us?
I think it would be a hit. It is a wonderful alternative to the Camry, Accord, Altima, Mazda6, G6, Fusion or Milan.

Re: GMI Concept of the Month: Holden Torana TT36
The concept looks realy great especialy the front end, but the back would look better if the taillights continued on to the trunk, couse i'm missing something in this picture:

Re: GMI Concept of the Month: Holden Torana TT36
Awesome write-up, man! I wasn't following GM as closely when the Torana was first shown, and barely knew anything about Holden at the time, so I found it very informative. I didn't even know that it was a hatchback!
For something that was so far from production at the time that it was originally shown, it certainly is a practical concept car. They could put almost every feature in this car into a production model with almost no modifications. I really hope we do get to see this car in the real world. |

Re: GMI Concept of the Month: Holden Torana TT36
I've thought this car was rediculously awesome since it appeared a while back. If Pontiac could replace the G6 with this car anytime soon (although before 2010 is probably impossible) their new slogan could be:
All Your Customer Are Belong To Us! (little Zero Wing joke) |

Re: GMI Concept of the Month: Holden Torana TT36
What it isn't. I'll tell you what it is. It's better looking than anything GM has in the states right now or in the future
Is there something in the water that makes great designers in Australia. Does GM have to send their US design staff to Australia to get a clue
