Okay, that is bad in that case. I'm contriving my letter right now.

Re: Do you care? Then Take Action!

Anybody want to write to Warren Buffett and encourage him to buy Kerkorian's GM stake or the whole company?

Re: Do you care? Then Take Action!

Why should G.M. and Ford be 100% American owned? Most of you have no idea how many foreign companies G.M.,in particular, bought. There was no outrage when it happened because it was felt that in the long run all would benefit. A few G.M. acquisitions: Buick(Canada),Vauxhall(Great Britain),Holden(Australia),Opel(Germany),Saab(Swed en) etc.,etc. Renault-Nissan ownership at 10 to 15 percent might be very good for G.M. Now,just stop being so paranoid.

I was planning on going to college for an engineering degree and wished to get a job working for GM but now I'm rethinking that future decision. If you go through with this, you will lose many, many buyers. I've grown up around the American GM and I am, again, disgusted that you would consider doing such a thing. My immediate family has been faithful to GM since the 1960s and I promise you if you go through with this that our 2000 Monte Carlo will be the last GM vehicle ever to be bought from my family. If I wanted to buy a Nissan, I would go out and purchase one. I also understand that this would be a way to get cash and fast but if you continue to produce the wonderful cars that you used to produce, people will buy them. That's a fact.
Sincerely,
Robert
There's my letter to GM. I hope they receive that.

I won't buy any GM car anymore if GM will ally with Nissan and Renault!

Re: Do you care? Then Take Action!

One thing I can come up with right off hand is Nissan is (was?) going to buy hybrid technology from Toyota. If this goes through you can forget that.... add them to the GM/DC/BMW alliance.

Re: Do you care? Then Take Action!

Some of you are acting like you just discovered the exact day of your death. Calm down. If you got this excited when your family of friends bought foreign cars, GM would still be thought of as a serious automaker.

I don't know about you, but I get excited when my family/freinds buy foreign cars. AND, I let them know what they should have done different and the advantages of GM.

Re: Do you care? Then Take Action!

GM needs to do something, but if this is it then thats fine with me. Personally however, I think they just need to cut brands out and focus their resources on less vehicles, so they can make a few really good cars than alot of different fairly good cars. They sell alot of trucks and they are always better than the cars, but they only have a couple brands (save the caddy) to work with, but are generally the same platform and can spend more on improvements to those. When you have to make a slightly different version of the same car, resources are wasted on making them slightly different but not any better. Look at honda and toyota, less is more.

Re: Do you care? Then Take Action!

Get over yourselves... Cheese... Whats the big deal if Renault/Nissan owns 20% of GM stocks... It happens.... It's when companies work together... and make, hopefully, good products...

I dont' know I kinda wanna see them work together before everyone goes and burns every Nissan Dealer in the U.S. to show their disliking of Nissan taking up 20% of GM's stock... Who knows it might turn out to be good... Maybe if you take GM's recent increase in quality and their reliability and take Nissan's powerplants and designs and have them work together maybe some amazing products could come out... Who knows... I feel that is this is going to take place,if at all going to happen, will most likely not be able to be stopped by the government or consumers... The government can't step in and do anything anyways.... Kinda the way our economy works... I believe it's called Leize Fair (sp?) or something... I learned about it this past school year; but as long as a Monopoly isn't occurring the government isn't intitiled to put their foot down...

I don't see what can be accomplished by sending email to gm and let alone the government... It's a deal between two companies... Not a deal between two neighbors or the mom and pop store down the street... People GM will be GM not matter what... what are you guys gonna buy if you guys are strictly GM and now refuse to buy GM???

Just my 2cents...

Isuzu also made engines for GM's trucks, and that's not worhtless. And the GMT355's aren't that bad, all they need is a few improvements.

Your the type my dad's family is... Bashing the Nissan my mom brought and then telling her to that she should have brought a Trailblazer because it was "made in America".... Well if your not paying for the car keep your mouth shut... If you have nothing nice to say then keep it shut... No body wants to hear you explain they should have gotten another car over another... And again if GM had some foreign company in them does that make GM no longer the GM it has been since it was first started.... ahh No... GM will continue to be the GM we all love and adore no matter what so you stopping the purchases of your future GM cars will just make GM no existent... So you'd be killing GM...
