Re: Do you care? Then Take Action!

This is interesting --- lobby for GM directly. Good Idea.

Re: Do you care? Then Take Action!

Will the govt even allow GM to merge? Either way, if GM merges it will turn the
industry into an automotive monopoly.

And even
if the companies have no " synergies " per- se , they can still share engineers, which could help build more revolutionary products. And if that's the aim, there's no point in pursuing a relationship with Nissan. Toyota, and Honda easily outshine them in terms of engineering marvel.

Other than the LS7 & maybe the Duramax, there is probably no engine Nissan would want from GM-they have just as good, if not better engines. And I seriously doubt R-N wants GM expertise "marketing" that includes blow-out sales, excess rebates, and out-of-this-world fleet sales.

With all the "Nissan wants to take advantage of GM" talk, I sure haven't seen any "GM wants Nissan" conspiracies. How about Renault's large European Market share? Nissan's truck capacity? The VQ engine, which has been on Ward's top 10 engines worldwide list for like the past 10 years??

Re: Do you care? Then Take Action!

This...for me anyway means two more engineering teams (at least) and a whole lot of "rat racing" to see who will get the new program monies. The people engineering these products will wonder constantly, "who will get cut?" It will come down to who will work for less.
