Do you care? Then Take Action!

If you care about GM, Take Action!

Progress has been made at GM; we're cutting down on fleet, poised to introduce some great products, like the Aura, 900 Trucks, CTS, etc. Times are a changing, costs are being cut. Things are on the up and up. And then this proposed alliance with Nissan-Renault. They would hold 20%, and Kerkorian would hold 10%, effectively controlling the company. Do you want GM to go foreign? I don't know about you, but I don't want to lose another American automaker. GM is important to America and an icon. The voice of the people can make a difference. Let's swamp GM with emails telling them what you think! Everybody; if you've ever cared, now is the time to show it by emailing GM, the federal government and contacting your local officials with a clear concise message; NO. Tell them you will cease to buy GM if this happens, and that you fear alot of Americans will also. Get mad, tell them what you think. I hope that everyone who reads this takes the time to contact the following. Remember We CAN make a difference.

GM Email Form:
http://www.gm.com/gmcomjsp/contactus/email.html

Government Email:
comments@whitehouse.gov

Also, contact your local/state governments and house/sentate representatives. Tell them you want THEM to take action, and that you care about the future of GM-and America.

Also, writing in to your newspaper can do alot. If you ever cared, now's the time to show it. Let's start an effort and make a difference.

Re: Do you care? Then Take Action!

Nissan's and Renualt's are crap! Though they have a lot of cash!

GM might benefit from them, but I see more of the other way around. And definetely if this happened a couple of brands might get axed!

BTW, I don't think the government really cares, the government is after all who sold off the american industry.

Re: Do you care? Then Take Action!

An alliance with Nissan couldn't be worse than ones with Fiat, Isuzu, Fuji Heavy (Subaru), and Suzuki.

Re: Do you care? Then Take Action!

What does the government have to do with it? Would the government intervene a private business' decision to have a certain legal business relationship? Renault-Nissan getting a few shares of GM doesn't seem like something the government would stick its nose in.

Re: Do you care? Then Take Action!

A merger would have to mean major cuts. At Daimler they got rid of Plymouth with a merger with just one auto maker. Now you've got two automakers taking over GM - something's gotta give - probably Buick, Pontiac and Saturn at the least.

We might end up with just GMC making trucks here - MAYBE they'll keep a couple Cadillacs, the Corvette and Impala.

Kerkorian thinks he's being tricky: he'll wait for Renault/Nissan to make a stock bid, then jump ship with his 30 pieces of silver.

They help developed and made some truck engines for GM and also developed the GMT355 midsize truck platform. They helped GM a lot with their trucks with them being an alliance.

Thank you for making this topic and I just sent my email. I am disgusted with this whole issue.

Re: Do you care? Then Take Action!

Were still talking about the minority stake in GM that Renault and Nissan want right? I haven't read anything about a takeover. This kind of stuff happens all the time (Isuzu, Suzuki, etc.). I really don't understand the issue. Polaris just bought a minority stake in KTM. KTM, in all likelyhood, will be much better for it.

Just don't understand where the "Takeover/Merger" talk is coming from.

Cheers
Brett
