Arrow VIDEO: never buying a chevy ever again.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rkB9YM9LtAg

tonight, im buzzing at 2000 rpm's at 40 mph. i come to a stop, then i just tap the gas and get the revs up to 2000 again to just progress my way down lahser and maple road. i was on my way to my gf's art show before woodward, and then all of the sudden, kaboom! i hear a pop/backfire and then my car runs like s***. brent came to help me and make sure i didnt break down on the way to woodward. he followed me and noted i had black smoke (carbon) coming out of my exhaust, BADLY, and it smelled bad.

tim miller with the redline said it might be the cat clogged, so i took his challenge and we unbolted the dp real quick just to see if it would run good. no luck. so we kinda just laughed about it and its probably #2 that went bad considering it had the most misfires before. all i know is that this engines f***ed beyond belief. i went through 1/4 tank of gas just to get home.

now i know the dealers gotta see a problem, but im not sure if i should take it in to one of the 3 ive been to or not.

i'll get a video sometime saterday. today was my last day of school.....aparently thats when my cobalt decided to call it quits too

edit: symptoms include not exceeding 4500 rpms at all, check engine light on 100% of the time and blinks when i hit the gas. i get 10-12 mpg according to my guage as well.

HOW DO U DO THAT?!?! supercharged 2.0 engine is = 2.2 NA engine

ive hooked it up to a tech 2. i got some pics of what cylinders have been misfireing (before it got this bad)

this was done a couple days prior to. at a saturn dealership.... i know where to go for good service now....

Re: VIDEO: never buying a chevy ever again.

so your gonna write off chevy for ever because you have a lemon and bad dealers? You should try to find a dealer that isn't out to f*** you. Isn't this still under warrenty? i thought the 5/100 was already out in 2006? and most cars have atleast 3 year warrenties, just go in and have it replaced. I'm surprised you're having such a problem with the dealers.

Re: VIDEO: never buying a chevy ever again.

An injector failed?
And you're going to write off GM?

Your description of your interaction with the dealer was a bit hard for me to follow.
If your car is under warranty.
And you haven't done something to void that warranty.
And you are still within the warranty period.
You should be covered? Right?

What am I missing here?

Re: VIDEO: never buying a chevy ever again.

you didn't answer the warranty question, why would they just blow you off if your car is under warranty? Im sorry you would write off a car company based on the performance of its dealers, I can understand it somewhat, but that is more of a dealer problem then the cars problem.

I clicked on the link on your signature. You put an intake on the car and exhaust. What else did you do? The way you write is very hard to follow. The car is under warranty unless your modifications voided it.

Re: VIDEO: never buying a chevy ever again.

well that sucks, buy a saturn or a pontiac and call it a day. Sounds like those Chevy dealers treated you like ****...thats not right. I hope you get your engine replaced and/or your car bought back. I don't blame you, I'd really hate those 'dealers' but not chevrolet.

people can say what they want, but you spent your hard earned money, bought your car, and you have problems with it and the ppl who sold it to you are not fixing the problem. That is some bull ****. I hope those STEALERships go out of business for alienating a customer.

intake and exhaust are simple bolt on's that don't do jack to your warranty.

NOw if you supercharge, turbo, nitrous, cam, etc. your vehicle or run racing fuel in it...then I can see the problem.

So the dealers in your area suck.
Doesn't mean you should swear off Chevys.
Sounds like you have a lemon too.

Re: VIDEO: never buying a chevy ever again.

You drag race your Cobalt?
Do you think that might have something to do with the dealers not fixing it under warranty?

dumbbutt, get a clue. GET A FREAKING CLUE

there is only difference if u go WOT (wide open throttle) on the freeway or at a stop light than if u went to a drag strip.....do u know what that is??

- its keeping the streets safe, and myself from hitting someone else, thats what.

just because i take my fun to the drag strip 1 time, doesnt mean the car has a write off to break.

u sir, are very foolish if for one second u try and justify ur arguement.

do your research man, get a clue.

1) gmpp make an intake for the cobalt anyway, my version is just a different filter and pipe.
2) if u want to tell me that it does void my warrant, read this The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnuson-Moss_Warranty_Act
3) after reading that, prove to me how and why my intake broke my engine that badly

exactly.

because, according to GM, saturn isnt authorized to warranty any other cars except saturns. they are allowed to work on them, but the dealer cant warranty them. like if i bought a new engine, and asked them to put it in, they could. but i would have to pay for the parts and labor. thus nullifying any use of warranty.

BUT this will change in 2009 when GM has planned to allow saturn dealerships to make this happen. because some of the saturns are becoming more modernized and similier to other GM cars, its a process thats been going on for a while.

..............-----hope that answers ur question......
