Re: the simple task of changing a headlight

Be ready if you pull the relay you will most likely get some warning messages and lights.

I read it as ARE backwards since he forgot the apostrophe and I skimmed it quickly. They're the ones that still use miles, gallons, farenheit and actually are still backwards hillbillys.

(But considering where I'm at and where I get my weather reports, I must admit I don't speak celcius and I'm fluent in miles and gallons since I don't like L/100kms and fill up my truck in the US. But I can admit its backwards)

I was sure it wasn't there at all...you just put it in the wrong spot. That's probably why I missed the whole "nt" part and saw are. As to where the d in backwards went to in my post, I have no idea. It's back now tho.

Re: the simple task of changing a headlight

Oh sheesh, I tried to cheat by editing in the apostrophe and put it in the wrong spot?!

Anyway, back on topic, I remember when we put in my HID's it was the first time we had taken out a headlight on the new style trucks. We all stared for a while and then started taking bolts out. About 30 minutes later someone decided to look at the directions and we had a good laugh. So yes, if you havent done it, it is a pain in the arse. Once you have done it, it is fairly easy. I can replace bulbs (low beams) without even taking the headlight all the way out now.

Context is everything, here we don't have the same social cues as when sitting around a bar. I took exception on that account. A smiley goes an awful long way here.

I love smilies. I use them a lot and they do go a long way. I even use some from other sites.

Like this one

Thumbs down Re: the simple task of changing a headlight

GM customer service called me back the service representatives name was Krystal. She told me she DIDN'T KNOW why they made it so much more difficult then previous GMC trucks to change a headlight, told me she would document my complaint. That was pretty much it. Wow glad gm really cares about its customers.
Even the wiper blades on this vehicle are special and cost over 23$ at any general automotive store.

TRANSLATION: Thanks for buying GM!

Im such a fool for not believing my friends and investing in this bankrupt, **** the customer over, company called general motors.

What did you expect? Customer service didn't design the truck, nor can they really do much about the design except record the complaint and give it to engineering. I mean really, what did you expect?

Well that's fine. You just sounded like you were seriously expecting them to dispatch a crew to change the lights for you.

Re: the simple task of changing a headlight

TANKED.................The new style wiper blades aka beam blade or pinch mount wiper blades found on many new GM vehicles ARE hard to find !!!!!!

I have only found them at my local NAPA store $12 each or GM dealer $17 each.
Napa also carries the rubber covered winter style pinch mount blades at $17 each also. A godsend here in the great frozen and snowy north!

Please also note these are NOT a GM wonder blunder product! They are used by several other "superior and smarter" automakers also! (think volvo and the almighty ****** also!)

Re: the simple task of changing a headlight

So what you are saying is that because the headlights/bulbs are hard to change and the wipers are different you hate your truck, GM sucks, should have bought a Toyota? Sorry, but that is rediculous....

I would venture to say that if that is the case you wont like any vehicle made.

You are probably right, I would have hated any truck I bought but it seems that this brand of truck would 2 bit me to death, Ive already had to do the front pads, (which are god damn expensive, compared to other trucks) it would seem my passenger caliper sticks, you have to buy special wipers (why should I be forced to do this?) and from day one my god damn seat (the vinyl)
wont stay over on the front corner of my seat, it just pops off, piece of junk (oh and trust me Ive had the dealer and myself put it on correctly) (and Im not a fatass either)

And another thing it would seem my light bulb wasn't burnt out, either the harness on the socket has melted or some other nightmare-type problem has occured, because sometimes the light works if I slam the hood, sometimes it doesnt. And yes, I made sure its connected properly.

Otherwise its been a good truck.
