Pontiac G6 Pulls Left

hello members

i own a 2005 g6 3500 v6 and since the first time i got in the car it has been pulling left on the highway ... i know plenty of people had that problem on here but did anyone actually find a solution? ... i've done the alignment on the car enough times ... i even lost track of how many times i took it to NTB ...

if anyone has found that solution to that problem plese share

thank you for reading

Re: Pontiac G6 Pulls Left

Anybody bothered to rotate the tires side to side to see if the pull changes?

daygon-

I had the SAME problem on a FORMER 1999 "Motor Trend Car of the Year" Chrysler 300M. For 10 1/2 months I put up with all kinds of crap/excuses/tire rotations/balancing etc. from the dealer UNTIL I took the bull by the horns and e-mailed the tire company directly and explained my problem. They immediately called me and told me to bring the car to one of their factory dealers and have them check it out. They told me if the tires were defective, they would replace them. That was the problem! Defective tires. From that day forward, no more BULL from those "award winning 5-STAR" Chrysler dealers about the crown in the road/they all do that etc.!!!

I HOPE this helps you because I know EXACTLY how you feel. If you go to my website below and have a few free HOURS, you can read the soap opera story of my CHRISTINE!

Good luck!

i would blame tires as well. if they were wore improperly or defective. call the manufacturer of the tire. Highly unlikely a pontiac problem.

When you got the alignment done, did they also check to see if the rear wheel alignments were within specification and the rear end was correctly aligned/tracking to the car?

Re: Pontiac G6 Pulls Left

I also recommend asking if they checked the rear wheels my Trans AM has a rear wheel that's at a slight angle and it makes it pull slightly to the right. Also look into if your tires are defective, a defective tire can cause all kinds of problems.

Re: Pontiac G6 Pulls Left

left front tire is causing the pull, switch it to the right side, or rotate them front to back and modified x pattern

Re: Pontiac G6 Pulls Left

I was wondering if you have After Market Rims on the car?

However, switching the tires does 'help'.
Somethings are a mystery. I have noticed people saying that their newer cars do this more then older ones.

My older Buick will go down the road for quite while before it drifts off...
My XLE will drift a lot faster but, I have after market rims and that is what does it.

If the tires/wheels are all balanced with a high speed machine by someone who knows what they are doing, shouldn't the car go STRAIGHT for a reasonable distance- after market rims or not? I'm assuming they are quality rims.

Mine do but they go out of balance very easily.
My original alloy rims didn't do this.
I had to add some ring thing to each wheel make them fit correctly...I suspect that has something to do with it.

Thats a hub-centric ring. Its usually made out of plastic and takes up teh space between the hub of teh rim and the hub of the brake rotor.
Balancing wont cause the car to pull.

There was talk early in 2004 of Malibu's doing this. It has something to do with the electric steering. Is your vehicle equiped with electric steering? Some people had the computer reflashed.
NTB (wow, thats a name I havent heard of in a while) does not have this ability. Take it to your dealer as I did with my Maxx. It was pulling left as well, and it was fixed with an alignment for the same price as I do them at work, and the computer was reflashed for free.
You can try the rotate tires thing, but it might or might not fix your problem. Its a cheap alternative at this point, as im sure NTB will or should have already tried this to see if it will cure your pulling. Im surprised they havent as it is part of just general alignment knowlage. May I ask, what NTB is this?

I will check that out Al. Thanks.
I believe I do have that. I know I have an 'electronic throttle'.

Re: Pontiac G6 Pulls Left

When you get the tires aligned, what does the tech say? Were they out each time or were they fine? If the wheels were aligned and you just wasted a check, I'd say it was the tires as well. Always make sure you ask the tech how bad it was whenever you get alignments done.

Mmm... I didn't know it was in an accident. Maybe the frame was bent? If that's the case, it will probably never go straight.
