Over the years GM's Quality has gone way up. You probably have just had lemons.

Well, I guess the bleeding won't stop for a very long time. Sorry to hear about your experiences.
Hopefully your kids won't shun GM.

Re: My GM Experiances

we've owned a 2002 Pontiac Trans Am LS1 since new, no engine problems or transmission problems WHAT SO EVER (if you beat on your car things brake, yessir, even on toyotas *eyeroll). My extended family has had over 5 G6's of various trim levels since 04, never been in the shop for anything to the best of my knowledge. I own a Malibu Maxx since 05, 30k miles, no mechanical problems yet (and I drive, i don't buick it )

Exactly. Why would they trade you a G6 for an Aztec? Doesn't make sense. Also the part about the TA seems wrong. I don't believe you right now.

Re: My GM Experiances

I really don't understand how you go from new car to older used car, back to new car and so on. I love how you sold your Camaro/Firebird and later came back to a T/A, thought you ran out of space... It just sounds like you registered on a GM to make one post and never return. Nonetheless if you look at JD Power and a few other surveys, GM is near the top in quality and in some cases the leader in quality and its only bound to improve.

Re: My GM Experiances

well my family has owned gm cars our whole life. grand parents, mom and dad, me, and someday my kids. sure there is some issues with things.
we have had no major problems, except my grandparents with there 00 malibu. it was a 3.1 it had 4k on it and lost compression. gm replaced the engine. sold car bought a 02 impala
other than that no major issues other than with there 02 impala which had an intake, a fuel pump, and a bcm, all in 80k. and a set of brakes, and tires. so around 1700 in maintenance, not to say fuel pump and bcm are maintenance but still, 1700 over the course of 5 years and 80k isnt bad at all.

with me i had bad luck with an engine in a grand prix it was a 99 gt. oil pump went bad. replaced the engine. only thing that went wrong with that car, other than brakes and tires. i had a 96 monte carlo which needed only brakes in the time i owned it, sold this car bought a 3000GT, motor blew up and it was a piece of ****************. sold the 3000 bought the grand prix. which i listed above. sold the grand prix leased a new 2005 monte carlo LT. had a few problems, brake pulsation, tire balance, a steering shaft re-lube, and a wheel speed sensor issue. all of which i fixed with no cost, now i turned in the monte carlo and bought my 07 Ion. have had it for a week, no problems. which i shouldnt. being a week old. keep in mind with the 2 engines that blew up. i was only 16-17 at the time. so young and stupid. now im 20

parents had a 01 monte carlo, had a wheel speed sensor problem, and a water leak.
sold it bought a 04 grand prix GTP comp G. needed a wheel bearing, only thing on that car.
keep in mind we live in michigan, bad corrosion.
sold it bought a 05 grand prix, wheel bearing and an alignment and a steering shaft re-lube.
now they have a 07 G6. hopefully they will be trouble free.

with all this we still buy GM and we always will.

i guess what im trying to say here is that some people have issues with some vehicles. it happens. i wouldnt go and say i'll never own another gm product because i had a few cars out of the 30 that ive owned be bad. it happens.

good luck with your mazda..... hope to see you back to GM land soon

Re: My GM Experiences

My family has essentially been an all GM family (except for the luxury cars).

And seriously... if GM's X-Cars couldn't push the family off GM for good, nothing will.

That line, in addition to being untrue, is usually the refuge of scoundrels racked with guilt for buying foreign.
I am sorry about your luck with GM. There isn't anything I can do about it. Hope you actually look once in a while someday.

Re: My GM Experiences

I don't understand what rommelvon hoped to accomplish by posting this. Just to get attention? He wasn't asking for any kind of indemnification or reimbursement. Seems like a waste of time to sign up for a forum, post something like that, then never come back again. Oh well.

I don't understand people who post stuff like this. Maybe he is has a guilty conscience for buying a Mazda.
