A little ticked at the Buick Dealer

So- my sisters 08 Buick Lucerne has been giving her TPMS warning messages from 1 tire.
Air it up- its gets low within a few days.
We cant find a nail. so on her day off she pulls into a small tire place.
This place tells her--- take it back to dealer- the rim has a small crack. shows it to her.
She takes the car to the local Buick dealer.
That evening she shows me the paperwork. Nothing- just something about checking tire pressure... Im a little confused by this.
1 week later- her TPMS is warning her again about low tire pressure.........
yesterday- she takes it in to my favorite Chevy dealer- who confirm the cracked rim. they have ordered her a new rim.

Today I email her and ask her-- what did you tell the people at Buick? this was her reply...

"I told them the whole story and the guy looked at me over my glasses like I was NUTS
And now when I read the client description…..all he put was that there was a check tire pressure message"

I cant believe that she told them there was a crack in the rim-- and all they did was air up the tire and MAYBE check/reset the TPMS...........

Im not mad at buick-- im mad at the dufus who put down- check tire pressure when she told them there was a crack that was found by a tire shop.

Re: A little ticked at the Buick Dealer

You should forward the info on this dealer to Susan over at Buick. This sort of behavior could cost Buick a lot of liability money or worse someone’s life .
Dufus like these need to be on top of their game to win customers, in this tough economic times and they continue with this sort of idiotic behavior?

Ditto. How is GM supposed to win back customers if everyone doesn't pull their weight? Glad to see the Chevy dealer step up and take care of it.

I would go to the dealer in person and raise hell. What if your sister had a blow out and got killed .

Did your sister ask them what they did when she picked the car up?

Call the dealerships owner an complain to him, at most dealers nothing will change until the owner gets involved.

I copied/pasted your replies to this post and emailed them to her....

this is what my sister emailed back....

"FUNNY they ask if I spoke to anyone. I walked up and my car was already parked outside. The clerk that prints out receipt…. Said “Barrios?” and I said “yes”. She gave me my printout and my keys were already on counter. I walked outside…nobody in sight. So I left.
I told myself “I didn’t like them the first time when they fixed the handle…..i’ll give them the benefit of the doubt”….so as im driving I read my receipt and it states something about RELEARN tire pressure message….and I figured they put air in it and reset the thing. So..sure enough.
Anyways… after 1st visit I got automated service telling me I would soon receive a letter so I could “judge” their work and my 2nd visit I got automated message inviting me to have In n Out burger, fries and soda ……whatever"
-----------------------------
(her 1st visit was to have her chrome door handle replaced when it broke).
The Buick Dealer she bought the car from was Camino Real Buick/Pontiac..... it closed down. so she took it to Reynolds Buick....local dealer-(they also took the liberty to swap both her license plate frames- sister wasnt happy about this either-- as they obviously didnt tell her).
The chevy dealer that helped her was Camino Real Chevrolet.

Re: A little ticked at the Buick Dealer

That is a crap service person right there. I don't trust one Buick dealership here and love the other. No one is perfect but I can at least expect best effort and an honest assessment from Jimmy Smith in Athens, AL.

Unbelievable. Only it's believable.

NHTSA needs to hear from your sister. If there's a cracked wheel on her car, there may be cracked wheels on other cars.

If you're interested in creating further trouble for the Buick dealer, forward a report to Ralph Nader's group: http://www.citizen.org/

If you have the time and interest, GM should know about this also. Perhaps they do already, considering that this is reported at GMI.

It's unfathonable in this day and age of everyone sueing everyone that a cracked or even potentially cracked wheel would be given short shrift.
This is how GM got into trouble to begin with, millions of incidents like this. Intake gasket, anyone?

Go ahead, lets here your horible story

How would you like to be cussed out over a car you do not own, you do not drive, you did not build or design. we do, everyday. We dealership employees are not here for you people to gegrade because your car doesnt live up to your expectations.

I never cuss, but Ive been screwed around by disorganization, my truck sat out front for an hour and the lady at the desk told me the mechanic was still working on it. No he wasn't, I watched him finish, I had to raise a stink for her to realise what was going on. And anytime I mention something minor with my truck they want to ram semi-annual inspections and fuel injector services down my throat, I know those are a joke, I rotate my own tires. Not to mention they wanted me to change my transmission oil at 40,000km when the trucks manual calls for it at 80,000kms under severe duty!

Oh and lets not forget the times they forget to screw my valve caps on all the way and they fly off on the freeway, or the time they stripped the plastic nuts on my hubcaps (these are supposed to be put on by hand with a socket on an extension hand tight only) that was fun too, Im sure they knew I wouldnt mind, why would I have to check for that, those too lost to the freeway ditch, no problem, after all, they were only $150 a pop!

EDIT: No offence to you sir, as I do not know you or what dealer you work at, as for all I know things are done differently where you are from.
