All of Mr.Lutz's rebadged-imports have flopped (The GTO, the G8, the Astra). Why should they listen to him again? How does the saying go? The definition of stupidity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. GM DID listen to him years ago. They spent the money to create the G8, imported them, and then watched them pile up. They didn't start moving until last spring when massive discounts were applied.

The dreary fact is that the market for such cars is small. Unless something can be built in NA I don't see how it could be profitable for GM.

The upcoming Alpha platform may spawn a mid-market sedan, but we wouldn't see it for some time.

I'm curious. Why didn't you buy a G8 before you knew Pontiac was being closed?
