G6 quirks/problems?

My G6 has started losing the turn signal indication from inside the car (it still works on the inside). You hit the turn signal, and nothing flashes on the dash but you can see the turn signals flash on the car. It will work on the dash but only after you turn the ignition off and restart the car. I also had the oil monitor reset itself...all by itself...and that is a twist as it has been a pain to reset it manually when the monitor actually does need to be reset. Is this a problem that is tied into one thing...or separate issues?

When I start the car, the steering will hardly move...and then sit eems to work fine after about 30 seconds...bigger problem?

Re: G6 quirks/problems?

There is a reason why there is a warranty on cars, go see your dealer and report it to them. There is nothing wrong with the bunch of G6's I drove, the easiest thing to do is bring it in and they will fix it under the warranty. Probably just a few easy problems to handle anyway. Not every car is perfect, but GM does have some of the best quality coming from their plants (Don't they have 3 in the top 5?).

Re: G6 quirks/problems?

I suggest a service visit...you have several issues which a dealer should be able to handle with great ease...

Sounds like a t/s switch & possibly a one of those great Denso columns...

Re: G6 quirks/problems?

I don't know about the blinkers or the oil indicator. Both work just fine in my wifes G6.

The steering sounds similar though. I think it is just normal. It does it on alot of hydraulic systems as well. It just takes a second to get it charged up. It also works of the vehicles RPM's. Next time you start your car, put just a little pressure on the steering wheel, then touch the throttle and you will feel it ease up. You aren't supposed to turn the wheels at a stand still anyways.

I would take it in to the dealer for the other two though.
