Hahah that's great. I go in every now and then if I think something's up. And for regular check-ups and the such.

Oh I have an 07 Chevy Cobalt for a rental. Surprisingly I liked the ride and it had enough pep (more than my old 06 Civic EX) Bad part was it was a BASE model so it hand roll up windows, horrible seats and no arm rest.

I love my Malibu. I am still trying to get use to it. Its been raining so every time I take of I spin the weels (not use to power yet)
That's good! The 3.6L VVT V6 does have plenty of kick to it. As does the base ECOTEC I-4.
How does it compare to your previous hondas?

Great to hear everything worked out and you got Excellent Customer Service and you happen to be a former Honda owner.

Other GM Dealerships Please take NOTE. Lets bring in more Conquest Sales.

Not use to the Power Yet you say, I see Red and/or Blue lights in your future.

IDK about his, but I have never driven a 4 cylinder Honda with any, uh, gonads.

Re: 2008 Chevrolet Malibu V6

Congratulations on the car! Welcome to GMI! GM cars have been very reliable in my experience. Wasn'ta huge problem but I understand it can make you freak out, espessially being nervous with the new purchase. Glad you had a good experience and everything has been fixed OK.

Anything like this happen to anyone with the 3.6L V6 in any other Gm car?
On My 2006 Monte Carlo:

I have had to bring it in 7 times in 10,000 miles:

Power Steering line fluid leak.
OnStar inoperable took 3 trips tp the Dealer to fix
Belt Tensioner falling apart @ 4,500 miles
Door rods and passenger side door panel rattles. Had to fix it myself. Dealer said did not hear a thing.
Tach bounces up and down in overdrive @ 40+ mph.
Defect in the dashpad that has a low spot. Afraid to ask the dealer to replace it since they will probably break a vent or it will then rattle with the new replacement.

My 2002 Malibu with 45,000 in the past 2 months has need $2,000 in repairs:
Failed intake gasket
Driver's side strut mount making noise. Lower control arm bushings torn and hitting the frame. Now the rear end is making noise on the strut mount and it goes back this morning.

I have heard Ford's quality has gotten better but not so much on GM. Don't they give you a 3/ 150-mile day return policy?

How disappointing.
I totally agree.

I personally can't stand it when something like this happens and someone else justifies it by mentioning a problem with a different car maker.

Re: 2008 Chevrolet Malibu V6

Another welcome from GMI. I have know of a few people now that have the car, from the LS to the LTZ, and none have had a problem yet. This belt thing is just a fluke, I wouldnt worry about it. Congrats on your new car, and what a beautiful car it is. Please show us pics if you would!! I really love looking at this car on the road.

Congratulations on your new Malibu. You're going to love it! Glad to hear that the belt problem was a fluke and that all is well now. The MOST important thing is that the dealer treated you right ESPECIALLY since it was a brand new car less than 24 hours old!

Hope you have no more problems for years to come! Good luck. Drive it in good health. What color did you get?
