Anyone experiencing front differential seal leak at left side of diff. housing. My 2002 TB has just turned 49,000miles. Anyone heard of GM accepting responsibility for this problem? Ignoring this leak could end up with "burned up" frt. diff. assy.

My 2003 TB EXT just started leaking from the front-left differential cover.

I first thought it was trapped oil left in that crappy cover they use to prevent you from being able to change the filter easily... but I wiped that clean and it's still leaking!!!

Only 11K miles and it's going back to the dealer....

    2004 leaks

2004 LS took delivery 9/18 and noted diff fluid leaking at 300 miles. Returned to dealer and actually had to get under the the truck and show it to them.
Not impressive. After re-seal and re-assembly leaking again at 1100 miles. I'm taking it back again 10/27. Dealer did admit that they have seen this only occasionally, and not on a particular model year. I have insisted that if a second re-seal procedure fails that a new diff unit be installed. We'll see.

Have your dealer do a good look at some service bulletins - a dealer that I was at mentioned that there might have been a 'bump' in a casting on the oil pan that kept the gasket from getting a 100% seal. He said something about having to file the bump down and re-sealing, that just a gasket would not work.
