Angry 06 silverado 26000 miles

Went into the dealer to have brakes checked for loud squealing. They said I have enough pads on them but need rotors turned to eliminate sound. Why the heck should I have to pay for something that is under warranty?
Wasn't about to pay for that. Told them to put the tires back on.
Then while the tech was under the truck he found a loose castle nut on the front end!!!
They are suppose to have a cotter pin in it right??? And it was loose a whole turn.

These brakes on these trucks seem to never wear out. I have several customers with over 200k on the original brakes. One of the reasons for this is a different pad makeup and they are a bit harder. A side effect of this is noise at times. Glazing of the rotors can intensify this noise or make it happen more often, and one of the ways to remove the glazing is to turn them. Usually though a good scuffing of the rotor will take care of it. This isnt really a failure of anything, just as long as the pads are still ok. Therefore it isnt considered a repair, and more of a maintence issue, and not covered by warranty. Oh, and they havent had cotter pins in them for a while, or castle nuts for that matter, so I'm not sure what you mean.
