Toyota Recalls, Toyota Quality, Toyota Forgets Basic Philosophy

Like so many before them, Toyota lost sight of the basics that made them what they were, when ego grabbed the reigns.

Re: Toyota Recalls, Toyota Quality, Toyota Forgets Basic Philosophy

Toyota bit off more they could chew these last few years and it's now biting them back. Things need to change and I'm confident that under Mr. Toyoda's leadership they will in due time.

That said, a lot of wrong points in this article. The Camry and Highlander hybrids have not been duds, not at all. The Camry, Corolla, and Yaris aren't really any significantly less competitive than most of their peers, and this statement:

Quote:
Speaking of strategic failings, Toyota Sequoia and 4Runner SUVs lag behind Detroit's offerings in almost every category -- ride, fuel economy, handling and design.

is hogwash, especially considering Ford and GM killed their 4Runner competitors and the Sequoia isn't any less capable than a Tahoe or Expedition.
