Spy Shots: 2008 Hyundai Mesa

Hyundai has put a name to the largest vehicle in their lineup - the Mesa SUV. Just a few inches shorter than Chevrolet's Tahoe, the upscale Mesa will be powered by a 3.8-liter V-6, with a horsepower rating estimated at 270 to 280 hp. Three rows of seating, luxury amenities, and an all-wheel-drive option will top off this newest entry from South Korea.

Can this segment get any more crowded than it already is. Everyone is coming out with this type of SUVs, this is a straight competitor with the upcoming Saturn Outlook.

I know Hyundai has been making big strides lately, but I don't know how far they can reach before manufacturing inexperience starts to surface in terms of high-mileage problems and recalls.

doubt it would have much of an impact, alot of consuemrs in this segment are very loyal to their respective brands.

Evernyone needs to have a mid-size SUV and is putting their money on this segment it seems.

I don't like the beltline. The interior is good, but the Fords and GMs are better.

But then again, all those cars have "fart burners" on them. That "fart burner" ads 5-10HP to your car ;some of those small Hondas can whip a Vett off the line. (from anti-rice.com)
So 115hp+10hp=430hp, at least in ricerland
