Exclamation Spied: Kia 'VG' (Azera/Avalon/Lucerne) FWD

Hot on the heels of our future product plan post, I bring you the first spy shots of the Kia VG. Due to arrive in Korean showrooms in August 2009, the VG will be the automaker's first in-house designed intermediate sedan...

Yet another sloped cabin with a small rear window, sacrificing visibility and maybe rear seat head room in the name of styling. I'm boring. I'd rather have the visibility and the space.

I'm surprised Honda is the only automaker that fields a car with a pretty hefty cabin and a 4-cylinder engine. The cabin of the Azera isn't that much bigger than the one in the new Accord, and it's V6 only. You would think that in this market, automakers would build 4-banger large sedans. A five or six speed transmission and 180 horsepower is plenty for something the size of an Impala or Azera.

Looks like the old Grand Am. Sharp really. Too bad Lutz abandoned one of the Grand Am's best feautres when he designed the incredible G6...
