Remember that huge TSX praise controversy? This is a more viable review.

I personally like the old TSX better and would never consider buying an Acura and I think the new grill is hideous. But I think this video is more real and less biased towards the whole Honda/Acura deal.

Just goes to prove, put a Honda or Toyota nameplate on it and people will buy it. The new Accord is much worse (IMHO).

A 5 speed automatic out of a entry level luxury sport sedan. If this was GM's car, people would be lining up to burn GM on the stake cause it didn't have a 6 speed transmission! We would be bombared by comments that not having a 6 speed transmission would be instant death for the model and the company.

Re: Remember that huge TSX praise controversy? This is a more viable review.

I think it probably should have a 6 speed auto. It used to only be available in a manual. I have never driven one but anyone that has really likes them. They seem to be a pretty nice mix of sport and luxury in a smaller package. The TSX is also going to be the first Honda in the U.S. with an available diesel.

The initial pictures looked pretty bad but I saw it on page 63 of C&D and it looked awesome from that front over looking down angle. I will have to see it in person before I know if I like it for sure because it looks so different in many of the shots.

I doubt it. If they put a 4AT in it, then yeah, that would happen, and it would be justified.

Re: Remember that huge TSX praise controversy? This is a more viable review.

I was a fan of the old TSX. I even recommended it to my mom, and she bought one. But I saw the new model at an auto show last weekend, and it's really, really ugly. The front fascia is is ridiculous, and the stance is horrible, although the interior is an improvement.

Re: Remember that huge TSX praise controversy? This is a more viable review.

Let's see.

Design? Failure.
How they managed to screw up best design in business (previous TSX)? Honda-magic at work I guess!

Driveline? Failure.
Still FWD only, still no AWD version which available in Japan for years. No LSD from JDM either. Way to go Honda!

Engine? Failure.
200hp 4-banger in 3500 lb "sport-sedan" is a joke. Where is turbo-4 or V6, Honda?

Value? Failure.
29K for overweight and under-engined FWD compact? I hope barrel of Kool-Aid comes standard, because buyer will need it.

1) TSX should cost 25K, because that's what japanese are paying for it.
2) It should be AWD with limited slip and 2.3 turbo.
3) Pot heads from Acura design dep should be fired.

That's it.

I'd rather have an '05.

So I assume you have driven the new TSX.

I'll be the one to say it...

...Every day I drive by an Acura dealership on my way to my parents house each day and they have one by the road. I personally don't think it's that bad looking. Pictures don't do it justice.

You have a point. The Acura dealership near me has one out front and it does look much better than in pictures. A friend of mine is in love with it and is negotiating getting one. I keep telling him to get an Altima instead but he seems to prefer the TSX for some reason. I guess beauty is subjective

Of course people will buy it. These are the same people who got ****ed, raped and violated in the 80s and 90s with junk of a product, scamming salespeople and dealerships, and not to mention getting anything done under warranty was a nightmare. Now, GM, Ford or Chrysler aren't getting these customers back even if their cars come engraved with diamonds!!

There is a lady in my area who was in the newspaper, was escorted out of a Ford dealership by police (of course at the request of the dealership management). All she wanted was to have Ford fix her brand new Mustang or buy it back, something that she had paid $25000+ for. You think she will ever buy a Ford?

No, but I have driven original one.

If C&D review is any indication ...

The mount for the steering rack is stiffer, the ratio has been quickened, and the motor for the electronic power assist is larger. Compared with the previous TSX, though, the steering feel is worse, with the dread on-center dead zone and numb feedback through corners.

So, they ditched hydraulic steering (ffs, why? 1mpg?) and made it numb. Just great.
