Re: Production Lexus LF-A

I'm surprised they're going to build it. I'll be surprised if they sell many. And the way they did the front of the hood is distracting. It looks like it's open, as if the mechanic forgot to fully close it.

And I just don't get the 3 exhaust tips. If it was a v6 or a v12 I could get it. But it's a v10, right? So it's rather odd. Maybe it's just me.

The interior is rather disappointing. It has a very 96-era Chevy Corsica look to it. Right down to the nobs on the instrument binnacle and the narrow air vents.

Rather weird, to say the least. I'm actually more stoked by the possibility Toyota might build the FT-86, which would give Hyundai a good run for their money and is a nice looking car for the $20k or so it's supposed to cost.

Re: Production Lexus LF-A

Either way, they built it and its for sale. Time to see Toyota come back to the fun side of driving. I drove a Camry V6 the other day and thought it was like driving a 1989 Seville. Cushy, sloppy and too much power for what it is.

Re: Production Lexus LF-A

I'm still curious why a car over a quarter of a million bux has a key and remote control when a 25,000 dollar FJ-Cruiser has a remote keyless entry built into the key itself and a 25,000 dollar Camry XLE has a keyless fob with a push start button.

I'm guessing the key plus remote is ancient technology that has proved itself to be extremely reliable. Yup, this car has to be reliable

All I know is that International in your sig looks better than this car...probably has a better looking interior too.

Re: Production Lexus LF-A

Sports cars tend to have minimalistic (i.e. disappointing) interiors. I guess this is one of those cases that form follows function.

Yeah but this is a Lexus. Corvette's interior is plain and it gets ragged on for it all the time and the ZR1 is less than half the price of the ISF. It'd be like if a Mercedes sports car had a bland interior.... Ok I'm done.

And no sports cars don't need to have lame interiors.

I'd be curious to see how this thing ranks against a Corvette ZR-1. I'm betting the fancy interior, the weight distribution, and the high-revving engine give the LF-A all of the intangible advantages but the raw performance numbers give the ZR-1 the win.

I agree. It would be cool to run this car against a ZR-1, R8, etc.....
