tsk tsk tsk john ever consider that gm's lack of a product at the moment is that they don't wanna throw just any band aid out at the solution and then take an even bigger hit to an already crippled reputation i believe they are just pulling back from round 1....and a 40-50mpg under 20k should be no issue if you think about my 1998 saturn sc1 with 178k just pulled 44mpg on a 80% highway run and ive achieved 48.6 =0 shocking but how so from gm???? but the car was to basic for many sissy americans....best of all it cost 13k new! i picked it up for 1300 surely ill save more money than you ever will with your prius! so surely a 1.4l direct injected DOHC engine can outdue a 1.9l SOHC from 1998 if they keep the weight down
