Now Infinity is going for a small RWD car

I know the manufacturers couldn't abandon the SUV until the American buyer abandoned them but as an enthusiest I am so glad it is happening. It appears that the manufacturers are now aiming their sites on a different class of vehicles we have never seen before in the U.S. It looks like instead of seeing the small car as an entry level break even machine the manufacturers are going after smaller, sporty, fun-to-drive cars that will have plenty of power through forced induction that don't have to be priced like a last year of the generation Cobalt. It's a great time for enthusiest no matter how much other doomsday speak you hear.

Don't worry.... Cadillac will have one 4-5 years after Mercedes, Infiniti, Audi, Jaguar, and Acura.

All these advances into new luxury market segments and continuous updates to existing luxury cars makes Cadillac look completely out of touch.

.....and makes my Lincoln look like an actual CTS/CTS-V competitor

Seriously though, with all the RWD buzz floating through the Asian side of the industry, it was sort of inevitable hearing something like this from Infiniti. Esp. when Hyundai is aiming their upcoming Genesis coupe right at em....

Not only that but Nissan is getting a smaller RWD coupe so I figured Infinity was next. It just took less time than I was expecting to announce it. I wonder when production tires hit the road?

On the other hand, aren't they afraid to became a bit too mainstream and diluting the image of exclusivity?

Maybe Jim Press could ask Ghosn if he can use this future platform for a Chrysler/Dodge model?

I hope that cool red plastic wall sculpture that Nissan recently showed off was a top view of this car!

What exclusivity? They apparently can't sell a car worth over $50,000 that's not named Escalade. And even then, the Escalade isn't worth $50,000.

There is NOTHING exclusive about Cadillac.
