New Tundra tower see saw commercial

Have you guys seen the toyota commercial with the tundra hauling a 5 ton trailer up this giant see saw? I want to see them put that trailer on the other full size trucks and see how they do coming down the other side like the tundra did. If that doesn't say good brakes I don't know what does. You can see it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D81uh6I-2Q4

Re: New Tundra tower see saw commercial

It's a real world situation when trailering. Have you been near capacity and had to do a panic stop? Generally it isn't a pretty site especially when the trailer jackknives or the hitch becomes damaged during the manuever. They should challenge gm, ford and dodge to put their half ton trucks up on that platform with the same trailer and see what happens. It would probably prove highly embarrassing for them. On my silverado ec with 4 wheel disk brakes stopping with a trailer wasn't one of it's strong suites.

That's a computer generated ramp and scenario.

Thanks for being a Troll. Maybe you should try it yourself.

Aren't we in the thread titled "Asian Competition?" If I'd gone to an inappropriate area and started flaming then I'd be a troll. This is in the right forum. I wouldn't dare try that with my 06 tundra because I know I'd either be hanging off the tower or the trailer would push me right off it.

Dumb statement.. but they never did go to the moon either did they?

I guess if it doesn't fit neatly into a preconceived notion then it's not true.

What if they really did land on the moon?..Nahhh how could anybody get to the moon. Get real.

Re: New Tundra tower see saw commercial

Not bad. I also went to their home page and watched the extended version of the making of the seesaw. Looks very good, pulling up a steep incline and slamming on the brakes on the quick descending. The new Toyota Tundra will make a great competitor for the GM dual, ford, Nissan and Dodge trucks. I will give them prop up for making a very competence truck. I hope GM can hold them off.

No it's not. It's an actual demonstration (even mentioned in the ad) and there's a "Making of the ad" video on the Toyota website.

besides being fake, computer generated ramp. Theyre called TRAILER BRAKES. You can even buy them aftermarket!

I suppose you guys think the other add with it racing down a runway through closing doors and convieniently stopping right before falling of the edge of a cliff is real too?

Watch the behind the scenes video and pay attention to the real work trucks in the background.

ok, it still had trailer brakes though. on that kind of slope that trailer wouldve passed the truck with out them. Not to mention they werent maxing out the tow rating either. 15 lbs bricks, stacked 6x5x8 square. Do the math.

If you thought that was an amazing demonstration, you all have not yet seen the Tacoma survive the Loch Ness monster. Freaking nuts.
