Re: new pix of Mazda Kazamai

Although it's neat to see something new/unique. I find it so artsy that I hope nothing like it makes it to production. Keep these on the show car circuit Mazda.

Re: new pix of Mazda Kazamai

Wow thanks for this...I had not heard of this one......I am totally enamored with ALL the Nagare concepts to date, but this may well be my favorite since I have waited since the 1960's for sleek futuristic cars! This one blows me away.....I hope that Mazda soon starts letting these stunners HEAVILY influence their production cars, but the new Mazda 3 has largely dashed my hopes for that. I'd love to know the CD of this car, actually of all the Nagare concepts. Thanks again for posting this.

Sarcasm on

Even though it doesn't have the graceful flowing lines of the Cruze,

Sarcasm off

I'd drive one!

Re: new pix of Mazda Kazamai

I see it as a work of art...the whole shape plus those exquisite creases woven into the sheet metal, the detailing of the tail lights and head lamps, the sculpted rear end...a real beauty!

I kinda like it. Though no doubt that is a concept car. No way I could see this go into production as is.

Re: new pix of Mazda Kazamai

This is by far my favorite of the Nagare concepts and probably the closest to something they could produce even though it's far from ready for that. I agree with Johnstarns that I was hopeing for more from the new 3 as far as styling to go closer to these concepts but I guess Mazda is being more conservative since the current three is so successful.

The car itself looks really good, I don't however care much for the gill area.

Im just as delighted to see these mesmerizing lines as you are. I was waiting for cool cars since i dunno when. i mean for me this is where design starts. finally something that looks like colani inspired, with flowing lines evoking themes of nature.
im not so impressed with the current mazda line up, but i was hoping someone will finally start designing cars. well...mazda was there, what can i say. although pontiac had much more reasons to shape the future. i guess those days are over with bold designs at pontiac (banshee, rageous, pursuit, sunfire, stinger...u know what im talkin about)

Hey thanks for the reminder about Colani....I nearly worship the ground that over-the-top eccentric genius walks on! His designs for cars, planes, trucks, motorcycles, buildings and more are simply breathtaking in their scope and ingenuity! I see him in many ways as a new Michelangelo, but on really good weed. He is a true groundbreaker as were/are other heroes of mine like Marcel Duchamp, Laslo Moholy-Nagy, Yoko Ono, The Beatles, Pee Wee Herman, Albert Einstein and Steven Hawkings.

thats right, he doesnt just design shapes, he designs living things, because all what he does is almost coming from nature, so simple yet so perfect.
my favourite car happened to be the 1200bhp colani corvette. its the best a corvette could ever be. now thats oraganic design. mazda is ok, but this is a masterpiece. yes, he is michelangelo. or should i say, michelangelo was a colani.

Yes I like that design of his, plus his other VERY radical cars and other vehicles directly inspired by life forms....even his commercial semi-truck cabs blow my mind. In the 80's he designed for West Germany a HUGE, multi-deck airliner based very largely on the basic form of a shark....it WOULD flown but it was cancelled after the two Germanies merged....I have sought the internet high and low for images of it but have never succeeded, plus misplaced years ago the original color photo from a magazine...it was SO futuristic looking, say 25th century. Some of his car designs also have that biology-inspired-futuristic "beyond sleek". Oddly, his own website is quite barren of images of his amazing work. Bummer as they'd make for some awesome wallpapers!
