French article from LeBlogauto
http://www.leblogauto.com/2009/10/co...-nano-feu.html

it seems then a short-circuit problem caused some fires in some Tata Nanos

Too bad, if it were here in the West we'd just buy another one! They are cheap enough!

Hmm... a $4000 car with a design fault. I can't imagine why.

Re: little hot smoke for the Tata Nano

How could you have gotten something so simple wrong? $4K for a car with a sub 1 liter motor, a manual transmission, and NOTHING ELSE. Something tells me they wouldnt do well at all in America, mainly because such a simple car can have such a bad flaw when theres barely any electronics in it. We already had something like that. We called it the Ford Pinto, but it wasnt the elecs, it was the gas tank.

Too bad for Tata.

This car is a roving piece of junk.
obviously cheaply built & sold.

I rather ride a bicycle or take public transportation!

Um, guys? The same exact issue was a recurrent problem on my US-made, $24,000 Saturn LS2 V6.

I don't think it is a car to be bought. It is not good. I have had a ride in it.
