Should I trade my Mustang in for a Camry, will driving a Camry make me happier?

Im prolly coming off as a smart ass, but I want to know why it's sad to say you'll never buy Japanese.

I dont care if Toyota makes a great car, I know that more Americans would have jobs if Toyota and other imports didnt exist in America or were atleast taxed in a way that it wouldnt give them the benefit to dominate. If GM, Ford, and Chrysler were given all the sales that the Japanese companies get, can you imagine how many jobs would open up here in America? How great of an impact it would make on soo many differant industries? How our economy could boom? More profit to domestics would allow them more money to spend on creating better vehicles and insuring customer satisfaction. The profit would get circulated into our economy. Things would be better. But Americans have this attitude that they are obligated to accept, not even accept, f'n love imported goods despite how stupid we seem for not caring for our own first.

If every job held by a Japanese man or woman in Japan (that has something to do with the auto products sold in America) were given to Americans, you cant tell me that wouldnt be better.

I hope that everyone who buys an import is faced with a day where they get axed because someone across seas can "do it better"..then, I will see how they like it when their fellow Americans say "That sucks..." as they consume the foreign products/services that put their neighbor out of a job.

please dont bring the economy into this.

he said "I will never buy a japanese car in my life". first off, japanese cars arent GM's only competition, what about the europeans? the koreans?

second, what about used cars? they dont affect anything. What if there is this absolutely stunning car that you see for the first time, and you just want it so bad, why should you deprive yourself because it's japanese? that's why it's sad.

all this hate is sad.

Yep, your right, I am not. I am, though, a GM car/truck enthusiasts/fan (which is why I am on this site).

BTW, how did GMInsidenews.com become Generalcarentusiasts.com?

Re: I will never buy a Japanese car in my life.

I probably never will buy a Japanese car in my life...my passion is geared toward GM and Ford vehicles and I have no intention of ever switching. I'm a dying breed of those that are "brand loyal" (yes, I happen to like Mercury, Buick, and Oldsmobile). I grew up around Fords, Oldsmobiles, Mercurys, and Chevrolets and I would like to continue supporting the companies that have given me so many good memories over the years.

But I don't need a sig to express that. I don't want to stoop down to the level of the people at Toyota Nation with their tacky "Toyota RULEZ / GM-Ford suckz" sigs and avatars. In fact, I think my sig pics says enough which way I swing.

Because I'm not that selfish...there arnt really any succesful Japanese cars that are absolutely stunning (Camry, Accord, Civic, etc.) Not that they are hideous, but its not like someone dreams and desires for a Civic the way someone does for a Corvette..they buy the imports for differant reasons, most of the time under false information or just flat out BS that has been circulating since the 80s and hasnt been set straight (American cars are crap and get 10mpg)

If people are supposed to deprive themselves of cars they want because of the whole global warming thing..or because oil companies jack up the price for oil..why is it so bad to ask they deprive themselves of foreign vehicles for the sake of their fellow American's jobs and the American economy?

What Japanese car is sooo stunning that there is nothing American that can compare? I'm curious..please tell me? Hell, 500 virgins sounds pretty damn good to me..but I wouldnt sell my soul. Why should I screw my friend, neighbor, complete stranger, fellow American over for a Civic?
