Hyundai Genesis Official Price

The news has it that they began selling the Genesis in Korea(Well, they said on 9th, which they are right now), and here are the official KOREAN pricing of the car for sale in Korea. Note that, these are Korean prices, which they usually charge a bit more than their export version, I don't know why but.... I did some calculations by going into exchangerate.com, and posting the American value as well. I guess part of the reason that they priced the Genesis that high in Korea is because the fact that they are selling it under Genesis brand, not Hyundai, so I guess they are factoring in the costs they will have to spend on it in order to build new dealers and other stuffs, into the car, I maybe wrong.

-3.3 Liter Grand(which is the name they call for the base car): W40,500,000 = $43,109.33
-3.3 Liter Luxury: W45,200,000 = $48,112.14

-3.8 Liter Royale: W52,800,000 = $56,201.79
-3.8 Liter VIP Pack: W58,300,000 = $62,056.15 + W9,160,000($9,750.16) if the customer orders the Premium Package that includes Blind Spot Camera, which is the name they call it. I don't think they meant the adaptive cruise in this case).

These ARE btw, the KOREAN model price, the US Price should be lower, for, they also have the V8 model for US-Bound, and they won't bring the 3.3 here, and I personally think they have no chance to sell a single unit if they price the cars like that, over here, since no-one in their right mind will pay that kind of money for a Hyundai, especially in North America.

NOTE: I am posting this information here only, so.... You've heard it here FIRST. (LOL, I've always wanted to use that phrase. :P ) I just got these infos from the Korean Site that I visit as a homepage when I first log in to the Internet.

btw, here are some pics. I know, most of you have seen it, It's in Korean, so just view the pics:

http://cafe.naver.com/winstock.cafe?...rticleid=34721

And, they actually have the full(looks like) brochure for the car posted here, all in Korean, but:

http://cafe.naver.com/clubhm.cafe?if...articleid=1453

The comments there are pretty much made up of complaints saying that the base model of the Genesis(3.3 which is the version we won't get) pretty much comes with nothing, that the car is only Genesis in name, and they are saying that adaptive headlamps and stuffs can only be equipped in the higher trim level, but then, there's the rumor that the US bound models will have those equipment availiable on all models. Also, there's a rumorred starting price for the US model. They are saying that it will start at around $26,000 for 3.8.

Re: Hyundai Genesis Official Price

They are bringing the 3.3L here. It makes 260 horses, so I don't see why they wouldn't.

Re: Hyundai Genesis Official Price

Yeah, I just saw Sal's thread after making this topic, so I guess they decided to bring all 3 engines into the US. Hmmm. They better be good enough to win any buyers in North America, since Hyundai and Kia still has a way to go in order to gain a respect that is half as good as the Japanese are getting. I doubt the Genesis will make much impact on that, since it isn't really original, but....

It's questionable though, why bring 3.3 liter engined version and sell it on the same roofline when there is already the car which uses pretty much the same engine, Azera, that only has a small price margin? I don't think it's such a good idea. I guess Azera is a toast then, since most people who is shopping for Azera may go up a notch and spend a few grand more and get the next level up, unless they prefer, more original design that Azera has over the Genesis which is nothing more than a mish-mash of something else, and save a few grand.

So I guess the rumorred price of $26,000 will be for the bare-bone 3.3 Liter version then.
