Once i saw the side profile it kinda looked excactly like the accord but with just a different backend. I could tell you this, I'm 99% sure that the tail lights were LEDs. I wanna say that it is an accord. But then again honda somewhat updated the accord's tail lights for 2005 so I don't know why they would update it again. Maybe it's not even a honda at all, who knows? I only took two pictures with my camera phone, and I regret not taking more . The first one is really blurry, and the second pic is of the back.

Re: Honda Accord refresh spotted???

I'm pretty confident that this is the '06 Accord based on what I can make of the side profile and the top portion of the dash.

It appears we are going to get some of the features the JDM version has had since introduction. LED tails and HID headlamps.

Re: Honda Accord refresh spotted???

Here's some of the rumors I looked up on Honda forums just now about the 06 Accord...

-standard Vehicle Stability Assist on all models
-17" wheels on EX V6 models
-possible manual mode on automatic V6 models
-possible 6-speed manual on EX V6 sedan
-available SH-AWD
-faster processor for Honda Navigation System

Re: Honda Accord refresh spotted???

From the first pic, it looks like a 4 door, but the rear if a revision looks more like the 2 door taillights. Kinda weird of Honda because 4-doors taillights usually stretch out across the trunk further.

The rear kinda looks like a Pontiac to me, but i doubt it if it has LEDs.

Re: Honda Accord refresh spotted???

Too plain in the rear, but maybe it'll look better in clearer pictures.

Re: Honda Accord refresh spotted???

That bumper is HUGE.

In any case, it looks better than the current rear.

Well the guy who spotted the car did say that there was tape covering part of the tails.

Re: Honda Accord refresh spotted???

I thought he was only referring to the backup lights, becasue that tape is rather smooth, or the pic is really bad, but car looks decent, I still wonder what it is.

Re: Honda Accord refresh spotted???

Tail lights look way better! The current ones look like previous gen flipped upsidedown.

Re: Honda Accord refresh spotted???

Well this is right off the Japanese site:

And here is a pic for the American model:

That's a big difference; the rear looks nothing the same, they either are completely redoing the back of the Accord for both markets, or like I said...it can't be, and it's another car. The main things that made me believe that it isn't a Honda is the backup taillights near the license plate frame, usually Hondas have the rear lights integrated in the taillights. Plus, it seems too soon for honda to do such a reskin. I swear this has to be a different car, and I think it's a GM....I wish this could be confimed what it is. Whoever took the pictures, did you look in the interior? If so was it similar to the Accords? What about the Front?

Re: Honda Accord refresh spotted???

I think the rear looks almost GM, too. But the side profile definitely looks like an Accord.

Did the photographer take a glance at the front?

I'm going to post what I posted on another forum:

Most auto manufacturers are on a 5 year cycle. Toyta, Honda, and Nissan are to name a few. GM is not.

Honda Accord:
1- 1998.....new model year......2003
2- 1999..minimal changes if any...2004
3- 2000..minimal changes if any...2005
4- 2001......refresh model........2006
5- 2002...final model year run...2007

Now as you can see, the Accord is due for it's refresh.

If you've payed attention, Honda usually comes out with their new Accord 1 year after Toyota has introduced their new Camry. And the same applies to their refresh for the Accord. Makes sense.

1997- New Camry
1998- New Accord
2002- New Camry
2003- New Accord

The Camry just received a refresh for '05. That means it has two model years left or at this point, one and a half. 2006 is the final year for the current Camry. 2007 will bring a all-new Camry. The following year will bring the all-new Accord. By the way, Honda switched to a 5 year cycle for the Accord in 1998. Civic switched in '96.

1997/2007 - New Camry
1998/2008 - New Accord

Interesting.

By the way, Honda did state the Accord will receive a dramatic update for '06.
