Here comes Geely
Geely U.S.A. Inc., the upstart North American unit of China’s Geely Automobile Co., has narrowed its search for a headquarters’ site to the Detroit-area or southeastern U.S.
The Los Angeles area, where many Asian auto makers have North American headquarters, has been scratched, John Harmer, vice president and chief operating officer for Geely in the U.S., tells Ward’s. "North American Headquarters" sounds a bit pretentious. It will probably be a few rooms in an anonymous office building somewhere. Remember, Geely's quality is among the worst in China among local Chinese automakers, a group that includes companies like Chery, Great Wall, etc.
