Re: EVO magazine: Z06 faster than GTR
for the *average* driver the GTR is the superior car at the track, but if you have Guru Race drivers that are professionals...everytime:
Corvette Z06>>>>>>>>>>GTR. GTR has all those happy go lucky correction grandma can drive it sweet systems. Corvette is much 'harder' to drive at 'limit'. But great drivers in both puts the vette ahead. GTR is like 'dumb-free driving' CobaltSS

Re: EVO magazine: Z06 faster than GTR
For some reason it doesn't have all the times online like it did in the magazine from August 2007, but here is what I could find. The C6 beat the 911 Turbo, but just under 2 seconds behind the GT3. The classes (LL1-LL4) were separated by the price. There were 13 cars tested and the 911 Turbo was the only one that was in the LL4. The Z06 holds the record during their testing, which beat the Ford GT from the previous year's test by 2.5 seconds.

Re: EVO magazine: Z06 faster than GTR
Yeah and amazingly priced. IIRC, the C6 beat every car in LL3 except the Z06 and GT3, which included the Lotus Exige S, Audi RS4 and R8...

Even the Ferrari(s) have launch control... The GT3 has a very good TC system designed to get the most out of the car. It can also be turned off. If the car with its e-nanny isn't a driver's car then I don't know what is. If it ever gets Porsche's DSG as an option with launch control is it no longer a driver's car? Is the 430 Scuderia with a semi auto, e-diff and all not a driver's car? Last edited by JJ26 : 03-13-2008 at 03:40 PM. |

Re: EVO magazine: Z06 faster than GTR
Hahaha. I think we all knew this was true.
Now let's see the ZR-1 do even more damage to the GT-R's reputation...

The ZR-1, if it can put its power down without spin, will redefine super car... Consindering just how mind boggling fast the Z-06 is, I expect the ZR-1 to stand tall for many more years to come. Right up there with the Ferrari F40 and McLaren F1. Its going to be a new game changer for all times. Last edited by mbukukanyau : 03-13-2008 at 05:00 PM. |

Re: EVO magazine: Z06 faster than GTR
No. They all incorporate Porsche's PSM or TC. By your definition that is an e-Nanny. The TC systems used by Porsche are some the best derived for sports cars.
So you would remove the Porsches from the list but not the Ferrari 430 or any of the other Ferraris? ![]() |
