Confirmed: Nissan Cube coming to the US
Nissan had nothing special to show at the 2008 Detroit Auto Show but did say that Nissan dealerships will be getting a new entry-level small car. The Nissan Cube, which has been sold in Japan since 1998, will be arriving next year and will rival Toyota’s Scion lineup.
![]() “The Cube is coming to the U.S. market,” said Shiro Nakamura, global design director for Nissan Motor Co. Ltd. “It will be a unique vehicle for Nissan. Visually, it is not like any other model,” Nakamura said. “It’s not for everybody. It’s not aerodynamic. Some people in the United States will find it kind of strange.” Nissan will not be following Scion’s ways of targeting the Cube towards the youth. “Does Nissan need a youth brand? Nissan almost is a youth brand,” Lane said. “This is not to say we wouldn’t consider it in the future.” Source: Automotive News (Subscription Required) http://www.egmcartech.com/2008/01/15...ing-to-the-us/ |

Re: Confirmed: Nissan Cube coming to the US
Wasn't it suppose to be here back in '07? They've been saying "they'll bring the Cube here" for years now.
I like it! I like it better than the xB, but I won't be getting either of them.

They might be close in size. I know in Japan they offer an optional third row.

Re: Confirmed: Nissan Cube coming to the US
I think I read somewhere the Cube is just slightly bigger then a Mini. I love the Cube and would consider it to replace my daily driver, if nothing sportier comes along. I was hoping the Mazda 2 would.

410 mm between the 2nd row and 3rd row? Thats 16 inches....who is that small? My 3 year old would barely fit there! And if she would I'd have to shove her in!
