Civic Si sedan due next year

http://vtec.net/news/news-item?news_item_id=447127

Our beloved friends at the temple are reporting that a Civic Si sedan has been indicated by reliable sources.

Quote:
Yes, it's true - we've very recently received word from a well placed industry source that Honda has plans to begin production of an Si sedan in the 2007 model year. The same source indicated that it would be built in Ontario alongside the Si coupe. ...At this point we can only suppose that the sedan will offer the same 197hp K20Z3, 6MT transmission, limited-slip differential, 17" wheels, and sport tuned suspension, but that's pure conjecture at this point.
I have to say this is a much better alternative than the VW Jetta; the Jetta's base engine is way too weak for a car that heavy and the more powerful versions are too expensive. As much as I loath parts of the Civic interior, it's a decent powertrain for the price.

Re: Civic Si sedan due next year

I'm glad I got my 1.8t in 2004. I agree that the new Jettas are expensive if you want one with any sort of power.

Still, my main beef with the Civic is the styling, inside and out. What's worse is that split level speedo/tach setup, which won't age very well. It reminds me of alot of those GM interiors of the 80s. Those were the days...

I also don't like this general trend toward taller cars. I sat in a new Jetta GLI and I thought the dash resembled one in a minivan, the way it was tilted. Can't argue with the quality, though.

24 grand isn't too bad a starting price. Adding options is what will nip pennysavers in the ass...

top of the line civic is still slow though even cant even bust past the 15 sec 1/4 and still only 136 TQ. Dont mean to be talking down on the civic as im sure its a good car but they just are no fun to drive at least in my opinion.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of gutless Japanese engines. That's why I bought a car with the 1.8t

Even if I settled for a TDI, I would have been happy.
