Stupid name.
I saw a Venza at NAIAS and it was quite impressive. Much more so than the Camry. It had a nice interior, while I thought the Camry's was pretty crappy. I'm thinking the Camry might have been a bargain model and the Venza was a top of the line, but either way, the Venza was nice on the inside, the outside is another story. But one thing I noticed about the Venza and the Genesis was that the dash is curiously tipped upwards.
What's up with that? Like to be looking at most of the controls, you would have to be looking down at it. I don't mean the IP, but rather the center stack.

I don't understand why they can't make a "normal" Camry or Accord wagon. This whole crossover thing doesn't make much sense, because none of these vehicles would be as fuel or space efficient as a normal wagon of similar size would be, and they have no off-road or towing capability, unless you count a gravel driveway as driving off road.
I always thought that the whole point of the SUV was to be macho. All these crossovers aren't, yet they aren't as practical as minivans are.
Anyway, all SUVs are essentially wagons if you take away the 4WD/AWD and extra ground clearance.
Most of the point of crossovers are to capture people who are wanting out of their SUV's because they don't need the full capabilities. These people like most of the dynamics of the SUV with #1 being the higher seating position and #2 being the interior flexibility both of which crossovers do very well.
They rather don't care for the LACK of dynamics thereof. A wagon is usually much nimbler to handle than an SUV, or even a CUV.These people like most of the dynamics of the SUV with #1 being the higher seating position and #2 being the interior flexibility both of which crossovers do very well.
EDIT (on seeing photos): too bad it's probably a mule, the new Accord wagon is very handsome, and doesn't look that bad even with NA sedan's pig nose. It also lent itself neatly to Outbackization.
I'd rather have a Honda Crossroad though.

Maybe I just don't get it. With the Jetta (I'm not sure about other cars), you can fold down the rear seat and the front passenger seat to carry long objects. A hatchback would also be similar, but probably more flexible because it doesn't have a fixed parcel shelf. I just like conventional cars, instead of these trendy marketing gimmicks.
Why not just jack the front seats up about a foot, and put a couple of spaceship bubbles in the roof so the driver can get a great 365 (sic) degree view without any pillar interference?
I think I've just defined the next trend!!
I love trends!! They're so..........trendy!!
As for crosstour, what an asinine name. This must be a joke, even after the Friday night saki championships at Honder HQ I doubt this utterly idiotic name could squeeze out the door Monday morning.
I suggest ACCORDION.
