After the launch of new Mustang who cares...
Another 20hp...
Know where our RWD coupe is that can beat it?
At your Chevrolet dealer!
You sure about that?Originally Posted by mrfunji
I'm sure 13 extra horsepower won't make the Z any faster than it is now.
I thought I read some comparo about the 350Z being faster in everything but the straights but maybe I was mistaken.
'04 GTO is 0-60 in 5.3 and 300ft skidpad @ 0.88 g.
'03 350Z track is 0-60 in 5.4 and 300ft skidpad @ 0.88 g.
But still - I want the Camaro to return
And how many ways can they tune this VQ engine?
I predict the 05 GTO will be at 60 mph in 4.9 seconds. And the upgraded Z will be at 60 mph in 5.39 seconds. It would be interesting to see both of these cars race around a track to see which one could post the fastest lap. Hey, Lutz should challenge Nissan to a day at the track, the Milford Proving Ground sounds good, especially with the re-do of the course.Originally Posted by mrfunji
The GTO is more of an upright coupe, to where the 350Z is a low-slug sports car, much like the last fbodies.
Both in the same catagory of 2dr sports coupe, but I would HOPE that the lighter and nimbler 350Z can out-duke the large GTO around turns.

The 350Z is very nice looking. It does look weird in some anlges but for the most part it is hot. The GTO looks like a sleeper and it is. I would not call either ungainly though.Originally Posted by Buick61
Yea, they're really two completely different animals. The GTO is actually practical, the 350Z is almost as practicless as a 'Vette.Originally Posted by BigAls87Z28
The 13 HP should help some, if anything, I'm drooling over an affordable V6 actually hitting 300HPThats freak'n crazy for an N/A stock V6!
Why is the GTO practical while the 350Z is not. If it's only the back seat Nissan makes what is basically a 350Z with a back seat (G35 coupe).Originally Posted by GeMiNi THRaSHeR
I would take a G35 Coupe over a 350Z any day of the week, and apparently the people who look at both cars agree with me.
Agreed giaga 350Z is useless. I've been in one and while it was taken out for a test drive with a good driver. I wasn't impressed Interior was extremely tacky and low quaility. It has nothing on the GTO's grand interior. Seat's were supportative in both cars and GTO was extremely nice. But the 350Z gets alittle more Kudo's for the exterior and handling. At the dealer ship the guy was like you can fit 2 golf bags in the back. The pointless 350Z symbol bridge in the truck was well pointless. But the dealer ship mann wasn't to informed about the model. All he was saying was look at the window when you close the door. The 350Z was a 3.5 V6 6-Speed manual and was a Pearly White and was completely stock. The GTO was stock also and has the Automatic and yellow trimmed interior and yellow exterior and the 5.7 V8. Even though it was an auto the GTO seemed way quicker then the 350Z.
Umm...go test drive bothOriginally Posted by big swede
While the GTO's back seat is monsterous in comparison to the G35, the 350Z barely even has what qualifies as cargo space back there. Even the front space and seats in the GTO dwarf the 350Z's (Even my Honda Insight had more space up front). Once the 350Z gets AWD then it'll change my perspective on snow traveling, but I think the GTO would be better in the snow than a 350Z with RWD.
And I agree with Gigiastormer, the G35 is absolutely pimp.
Well lets hope 'useless' cars are never outlawed, because there are some damn nice 'useless' cars out there! Not every vehicle has to be able to haul 6 kids and a weeks load of groceries. I sure hope to have the money to buy a 'useless' car someday.Originally Posted by Boi350Sierra

Agree paul thats not what im saying. Every sports car should have some function besides going fast. I would wanna fit all my bags in the back for a weekend get away with a friend to an auto show or something. This car has alot of lows and to little highs. I'm just saying if Nissan wants to be serious about competition then they need to fix many things on the 350Z.
