That is impressive. I really like the Mazda3. Is this definitely coming to North America? They should offer this package in the sedan as well.

AYE CARUMBA!

The Cobalt SS looks sweet but the Mazdaspeed 3 looks to be german double fudge chocolate cake sweet. Let's just hope the 256hp isn't another Mazda overstatement...and how will it deal with all the hp and torque from the turbo with the FWD layout? The previous turboed 170hp Mazdaspeed Protege was lauded for superb handling, better than the Focus SVT according to Motortrend. 256hp will make it even sweeter.

Chevy better come out with a Cobalt SSS... turbo and supercharged to keep up! Good for Mazda. Memo to GM: This is how you build a halo car to increase traffic into showrooms.

I like the MAZDA3 very much, and this new engine makes it an even better deal for the money. I'd love to see a Civic Si try to keep up with it...

I'd only consider it if it was a hatch.. but this thing should be pretty quick.. it'll weigh in for sure less than 2900
