Toyota 's big off-roader, the Land Cruiser, underwent a minor facelift in 2005. But now, we've spotted a prototype of the next-generation Land Cruiser during secret hot-weather testing in the state of

OMFG its butt-ugly! This is seriously angers me. Why did they have to freak the once beautiful Toyota LandCruiser crisp lines?!

Well, you can't really tell what it looks like underneath. I seem to like it. It's got more mordenized lines like the Prado or Lexus GX

Re: 2009 Toyota Land Cruiser Spy Shots

It is hard to tell what the styling actually is with all the camo. The Land Cruiser is sold in something like 140 different countries, so I doubt the U.S. market will have much influence over the new one. The sales here are not all that many.

As for the updates, I don't expect much to change with the chassis, it is very capable off-road and has great on-road manners. They will probably change the exterior a little and add all the latest technology that it is currently missing. I also think it is getting the Tundra's 5.7L engine.

Looks all right from all the camo shots. Looks like just some minor exterior changed.

It looks pretty much the same... I don't see any radical redesign of the LC's current theme. It's so obvious that it's a LC because it looks like one.

I agree with genjy, looks like a Land Cruiser to me. Don't see any huge changes in design.

It's not sold in every country, but they advertise "Sold in over 140 countries."

Yeah but in reality any HUMMER is trounced by the current, and very old, Land Cruiser in pretty much every single way.

Shouldn't a land cruiser be...you know...higher. It looks overweight, almost like an oversized Highlander.

I think the article stated:

http://www.thecarconnection.com/Enth...78.A11897.html
"One of the interesting aspects of the vehicle is what appears to be an air or hydraulic suspension which lowers the vehicle when the ignition is turned off, presumably for better entry and exit."
