2009 Mitsubishi Eclipse styled after the RalliArt?

It appears that Mitsubishi is taking a nice step forward with the design and realizing that they had a winner in the Eclipse RalliArt from the 2005 SEMA show.

While toned down, as is the usual protocol in the industry, the 2009 Eclipse will make great use of the blacked out grille along with the addition of a spoiler wing for the back end of the GT model. Hopefully there will be some modded hoods out on the market soon so that you can complete the whole look. The only difference that I am disappointed about between the production and the concept is the lack of AWD for 2009, but then again Mitsu could bring the RalliArt label to a special few in coming years.

wasnt this concept shown before the GT-R? so shouldnt it be the other way around

The GT-R Proto was unveiled at the 39th Tokyo Motor Show (Oct 22-Nov 6 2005)

Its a development of the 2001 Nissan GT-R Concept


......also in the 39th Tokyo Motor Show, Mitsubishi unveiled the Concept X which also had its front bumper's mid section blacked out.


I guess its probably just a coincidence that when Mitsubishi decided to paint the mid section of the Eclipse Ralliart Concept's front bumper black, it would end up looking like like a GT-R.
