Interesting, I don't know if it is just the camo, however, it looks like the front (in profile) could be taking cues from the GT-R. (or at least the concept) The front seems a bit blunt; I like it though.

Re: 2009 Maxima spied

I think i like what the front end has to offer. This may just be the tape, but the rear says Camry.

Nissan seems to be the only Japanese auto maker that offers exciting styling.

Re: 2009 Maxima spied

My mom has an '04 Maxima (the first year of the new bodystyle), and once her 60 mos. is up, she will probably be looking at the new model. It's a great car (the reason my parents got me the Altima). I was trying to convince her to wait and see what the new LaCrosse and Aura would be like, but these pics make it look less bloated, which is my only complaint about hers.

Re: 2009 Maxima spied

Looks decent enuf(from what you can see). I have always like the Maximas, bet ever since they moved to far up in the price bracket, and quit offering the manual tranny they have lost appeal to me. My friends dad has a silver 03 Maxima Special Ed., with V6 and manual tranny. It is a really sweet car, but they have been going downhill ever since IMO. Hopefully the new Maxima regains some of the sporty/coolness that made it such a unique car!

Looks like my 05 is going to have a date with a telephone pole. j/k In all seriousness, If the price is below 35k I might consider trading up.

Re: 2009 Maxima spied

I really hope this is rwd, Nissan already has the Altima... the Maxima has become forgettable in my eyes. If it's not rwd, then hopefully it's distinguished from the Altima more so then ever.

Re: 2009 Maxima spied

^^^Meh, Not a fan of that with the one piece glass roof, and the rear suicide doors. Plus the front end juts out too much. Reminds me of some kind of Buick concept. If that is to be the new Maxima, it is a good starting point that will probably look real nice when toned down a bit!

Agreed........it should get a manual option and go RWD to more properly compete with other high end offerings (namely Genesis and Pontiac's G8)

Re: 2009 Maxima spied

Umm...no. It should get back its manual option, but the Maxima should stay FWD. It's good for what it is: a premium FWDer with a bit of a sporty flavor. There aren't many (if any) cars on the market today that offer what the Max offers. If someone wants RWD Nissan has an answer: Infiniti M35/45.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Well it's pushing the price ceiling then, even for a 'premium yet 'sporty' FWDer
