Not bad at all! It's not an original design (did you expect it to be?) but it's certainly improved on the Civic it copied.

Re: 2009 Kia Forte Sedan Official Images

I was hoping Kia don't make the Koup concept as a reality, since I hated that car for what it really was, was the ripped off Civic, plain and simple, just like Chinese copied BMW, Daewoo, Kia, Mercedes, and others to the grill and everything. This should not make it into production. It's a shameful copy to the Civic as everyone knows. First, Hyundai followed what Chinese did by copying Lexus, BMW, and Merc for their Genesis, now their offspring Kia goes one step further and blatenly ripps off Civic without shame.

Geesh.

It looks like the Civic with an MCE. The sculpted flanks look better than Civic, and the nose is more detailed as well.

Knowing this will be a few thousand less than Civic, I think they have a winner!

Big deal! The headlights look like the Civic's! Everybody needs to stop crying.

The Forte's more angular body makes the Civic look a bit fat.
Actually I was thinking just the opposite. The Civic to me has a much sleeker/sportier profile, the Kia looks taller and more generic IMHO.

Looks good to me.
Let's see the inside, the mech specs.

We're very happy with our 07 Spectra, it's a fine car that drives effortlessly.
It cost us 12 grand if that helps.

Agreed with Sal. The headlights look identical and thus starts the complaining. Perhaps that will play as an advantage for Kia? While GM fans ridicule the Koreans and complain, they'll be catching up. You guys are just giving GM excuses to remain stalemate.

Re: 2009 Kia Forte Sedan Official Images

No this doesn't improve on the civic/tsx. Its a shameful rip, very chinese.

I guess its more of a validation of Honda's work, if a well established company like Kia would take so many of cues.

Don't get all the civic hate. I've seen posters on forums say its boring. How? Its probably the most radical small car redesign in the last 20yrs! A proper cab-forward design(little overhang), mono-form shape, futuristic interior, low, sleek, simple and sporty. Polarizing to say the least and a daring design for a japanese company. It'll be good while before Honda makes anything this nice looking ever again.
