Me not understand the words....

There are some real nice features on this econobox.

The Smart Key is a real nice one. I simply love it...

Wow, Toyota surely has a lot of money to throw, look at all the equipment the Corolla has!

Re: 2008 Toyota Corolla Pdf Brochure

You can really see the family resembelance with the Camry in the profile. The family conk looks better on the Corolla. How could they get the interior so right when the Camry interior makes me want to ...well, vomit. i like the treatment on the centre console in the Elegant trim level.
Also, I thought Oz was the only market to successfully argue against the new Auris nameplate.

Front end looks pretty nice; kind of has a Lexus IS look. But the back end needs a little work.

Im really likeing the style and amenities....and this bochure seems to be from Turkey....lol...but I guess if this is what the states are getting I like

If its anything like the last Corrolla there will be thousands on the road - so seeing one everyday will quickly kill any styling or uniqueness

Re: 2008 Toyota Corolla Pdf Brochure

Toyota builds a Jetta....or did VW build a Corolla.....either way, the exterior is way to similar for me. I am sure it will sell quite well anyway. It looks good but its just not my taste.

If that car comes to the US exactly like that, it'll completely dominate the compact car segment.

Re: 2008 Toyota Corolla Pdf Brochure

On lower line models, Toyota seems to be emulating the Dodge Neon by having only power front windows. The Neon is not a car they would want to emulate in my opinion.

Sorry to burst the bubble, but that is the new European Corolla, and not the Corolla that we will be getting here in North America.

Re: 2008 Toyota Corolla Pdf Brochure

Engine specs are definitely not of the North American corolla, which will be getting a 2.0l engine in base form and the 2.4l (camry) engine in sport trim level.

Appearance-wise, that will be very close the US model.
I'm sure the US base model will have roll-up windows, and "basic" features.

Corolla people don't want radical change, which is why Corolla still sells very well vs Civic.

My God if that came here, GM should just shut down the Cobalt production line. This thing will massacre the competition.

Wow, I really am suprised that you like this. I'm not impressed. Completely honestly, without bias..I don't see what is so great about it. I think the Civic is nicer then this. To me this looks bland and not very modern.

I think it looks nice. However, it is definitely more conservative than the Civic, but the Corolla has to be to appeal to 300,000 people a year. Civic appeals to the younger buyer, but Corolla appeals to a lot of buyers regardless of age. Same thing with Camry, it can't be too radically styled or they wouldn't sell so many.

Is this somewhat confirmed?

I thought the US would get that 2ZR-FE 1.8L as a base engine. Unless this new Corolla has grown fat and needs a power boost that the 1.8 doesnt provide enough of.

I think its high time the 2.4 gets an update.....
Seems like its the oldest engine in the Toyota family now. (Since hte 3.0/3.3 has been replaced by the 3.5, and the 1.8 will be replaced with the updated 1.8)
